Ok, Since you must know. Sutphen? Not at all... I don't know who told you that...

The Molds belong to a man by the name of Roger Munn. In which he called the design "SPIRIT".

Who built this boat? HYDRA POWERBOATS of Toms River, NJ

Did I lay it up? Yes I had some input with the layup being as I was contracted by Jack Domic.

Once it left the shop, it went to Kurts for rigging. After that I never heard or saw anything about it. It should have been fast as hell. It came in real light, but it had a great lay up on it.

I was hoping to perhaps find some info on it. At least now I know it is in a warehouse in NC somewhere...

So I would say that it was actually a "HYDRA POWERBOAT"w/some Spirit in her........

Sorry, But Skater was the first company that came to my mind when I had seen how sharp all the edges were on the bottom of that boat......

The boat has been sold and is no longer in NC. I saw a video of the boat racing where it came from the back and just blew by everyone.

The owner of that boat was Charlie Benton.
I think there were others, but only one by HYDRA POWERBOATS. Last I heard, a relative of mine was trying to get those molds to build a custom center console for fishing. I don't know if it ever came about though.....

Charlie Benton have any ties with NASCAR? I know Jack had mention something like that when they were talking about powerplants.

The boat ran good though? Huh?

Neither Powerplay or a Velocity.......

I would really just like to see it out there on the race course. And at least see some credit come back to HYDRA for building such an awesome boat. Taking an older design and building it with today's technologies and being a winning boat? It would be nice to see more of them out there........

Without a doubt! Even if he couldn't get those molds, he could build you something from this set of molds: New Vee Hull Design
