Stealth Cigarette-any pics out there?
I've seen the picture of the cockpit. Looks like something from that Hulk Hogan TV show.
But does anyone have a pic of what the boat itself looks like. Thanks for the pic. www.extremeboatsmag.com |
There is a picture of the Stealth in there clothing catalogue!

It's definatley a concept!

It would appear from the dash that they are trying to follow the lead of the aircraft manufacturers and go to a digital dash. I don't know how I feel about that yet. Some of the airplane dashes look real cool but they are in a more controlled envirnment as far as heat and humidity when in use.
I am curious how they fight the glare of sun on the sreens. LCD has come a long way but it still seems that with a bright overhead sun you would have trouble. Also keeping the electronics cool in that black dash has to be some issue. Still it's an interesting concept. |
Someone, anyone, help me find a pic. Here's info on it.
Think of Cigarette Racing Team's new 46 Stealth as a Cigarette with attitude. A one-of-a-kind concept boat. The Stealth was the brainchild of Cigarette Racing Team CEO and President Skip Braver and Executive Vice President Neill Hernandez, who purchased the storied boat manufacturer this past May. The powerful, yet stylish Stealth symbolizes their vision for the company. "We wanted to build a concept boat, something like they do at car shows with concept cars," Hernandez said. "Skip is an airplane pilot, and we wanted to do something that looked like you were sitting in the cockpit of a plane." Everything in the 45-foot, 7-inch boat, which is at the center floating dock at Bahia Mar Yachting Center, was custom-built by Aventura-based Cigarette. That includes the throttles and shifters, which were molded to fit the driver's hands. The aircraft-style bolsters are hydraulically controlled and can be moved up and down to accommodate drivers of all sizes. The Stealth is powered by a pair of 1,050-horsepower Sterling engines, and can hit a top speed of 115mph. Instead of standard gauges, you monitor the boat's performance by viewing a computer screen with images of gauges. The boat's custom paint job features a Stealth jet on each side. Half the boat is red and half is blue, both inside -- carpeting, cushions, seats -- and out. Another intriguing feature is the infra-red thermo imaging system, which senses heat to allow you to "see" floating objects such as boats, boards, 55-gallon drums and containers while running at night. "You drop a cup of hot water in the water and you can see it disperse on the screen," Hernandez said. Cost of the Stealth is $890,000. Hernandez and Braver plan to build additional concept boats that reflect the interests of their customers as well as the input of their employees. |
That dash must look really cool at night!

Oh, yeah.
Found out the price too. $845,000 Gonna have to wait and buy one that's used. |
Sorry, other than serious HP, it does not do much for me. How 'stealth' is it going to be with what, 2000HP, sticking out the back?
Back4More, that quote is hilarious!!! |
Sydwayz, I agree with ya, I was disappointed when I got the pictures. Don't know what I was expecting, but I was expecting more.
Okay, at that price, I was expecting ALOT more. |
Nice in theory, just doesn't seem very user friendly. Someone mentioned glare. That must be a nightmare.
Just give me the Gaffrigs and cut the price in half. |
so its just a new model with a new Dash idea???
|
One thing that a digital dash can do is give you much more information than you can with analog gauges.
If you couple it with the additional abilities mercs new system then you have the ability to monitor a lot of things in a small area. I would think that some combination would be better. Classic but high tech. It would lose some of its race styling and I wonder what the repeted impact of rough seas would have on the electronics? On the other hand, it is doing what a concept is supposed to , it is making people talk and think :) |
Thumbs Down to Cig on that one.
Boy, that is one ugly boat. I love Cigarette, but man that design is almost as bad as their old 42' Revolution, that thing was a flop. With all the new technologies and new designs, why would they make a boat look like an airplane cockpit from the 80's. I give it a thumbs down. I have also never seen a smaller cabin in a 42' boat. I do like the TV though.
|
panther, right on man the cockpit looks like some cheap spaceship stage props from an old scifi movie.:( would look good in 1982
|
Somehow, for close to a million $, and at 45'7", I would have expected a little bit more out of that cabin.
|
other than the electronmis teh dash looks mad old school at first glance i though it was an 80s boat. Then i noticed the LCDs.
Also what is with the crappy cabins in cigs??? Granted go fast boats usually don't have much in the way of cabin but eth cig cabisn are really suckey. Also teh paint on that boat well its ugly. The colors are just nasty and the HUGE stealth down the side in the cheesey digital letters is kind of passe'. As may of you know i'm not a big fan of really loud graphics but that is particularly bad especially for 850k!!! |
very expensive....
|
No thanks, I'll be more than happy with the Gladiator next to it. However, you can feel free to put the twin Sterlings in that!!
|
aggre with you scott; the one next to it looks better..
|
killer paint job.
|
Now that dash would have fit with the Revolution deck.
What the hell is that a wood burning stove exhaust chimney? (I know its for electronics but what the heck) Knight Rider drove his car KIT to the Marina and hopped in the stealth |
jb.... that was cold. Dead on, but cold.
