we had two of them with Alcone Motorsports, the one shown above was the first that was sold to Al Copeland and turned into a turbine boat and then into a pile of ash after they caught it on fire in Lake Pontchartrain and burnt it to the water line. the second was the one we ran in open class and last had US-1 on it after we won class one in 1995 or so.. it is now in Norway I think after being turned into a pleasure boat.

The 46 "Ruthless" was in N.W. Michigan a while back---Absolutely beautiful rig.

Cowisl, thanks a lot for the cool race pics - I'm guessing those are from '94 (when Recovery was still #27, not US-1) and probably '96/'97 when it was Zero Defect, and Alcone and Ohio Steel came onto the scene in their 46s. Speicher Lane, I forget what year hull #1 was, but it's definitely a '93 or '94. Greg, I don't remember a Ruthless 46, but if there was one, I'm sure somebody will post pics of it. When I'm back at Skater in a couple months, I'll get a bunch more info on all the early 46s - which were mostly all just race boats I believe.

I have no idea where "Ruthless" is now, but Tyler put together a nice machine. One of my all time favorites. Click on the link.

That was one of my favorite boats we used to detail. She went south to the island areas a long time ago. Awesome boat!!!

shel rohke sp ?? owned 2 early 46 skaters also ohio's Jimmy Dyke was the t-man. Dave Wessledyke of Michigan has the JAWS boat he brings it out every few years for a spin. There was a 46 down in the BVI that was the old Katana/Sloppy joe's. The late Randy Lienbach owned a early one also that he used to create the Airborne Cat pleasure boats..

I remember walking thru TNT a couple years ago and unsuspectingly came across "Freedom US-1" on a trailer

It was from that point on that I knew I had to have one.
