Skater 46 History - Pics Wanted

Last time I was back at Skater, Tyson, Ryan and I were looking into the history of the 46. Ryan pretty much knows everything off the top of his head, but Tyson also dug into Pete's log books and we found 46 #1 went overseas to the Spirit of Norway team and was campaigned in Class 1 on the European circuit. 46 #2 went to the JAWS team and was raced here in the U.S. in Open Class. 46 #3 went to Stuart Hayim and was also raced here in the U.S. as Recovery. Stuart then sold it to Laith Pharoa who raced it as Zero Defect. Laith then sold it to Bob Morgan, who raced it with Jim Lee as Big Thunder Marine. Bob then sold it to Jim and he converted it to a poker run boat - Freedom US1 - and the rest is history thanks to the bigger-than-life personality of Jim Lee. I know a lot of you guys on here have pictures and knowledge of these iconic Skaters through the years, and would appreciate any pics/info you could post up. Ryan forwarded me these pictures of Recovery (I never even knew Freedom started out as Recovery, I thought it was originally Zero Defect!), and Sue Morgan sent me quite a few prints of all of the 46s Bob campaigned through the years. Tyson forwarded me tons of pics of Freedom, but I only have a few of Zero Defect, and have found it hard to find pictures of Spirit of Norway and JAWS (other than the ones on the walls at Skater). Any pictures or info on the 46s following these first three 46s would be great as well. Planetman (now Motul Monster) is another iconic 46 that was built a little later in the line - it's a '98. Anyway, I've been a huge fan of the 46 ever since first seeing Howard Arneson's, then going out in it with him and Rik when I was still just a young guy. Speaking of Howard, I'm going to go visit him tomorrow, so if anybody has pictures of his 46 that he may have never seen, post them up and I'll print them out and take them to him! He loves seeing pictures of his old gal.

If Pete were to write a book on skater history and I only had space for it or king of thunderbolt row, is toss both copies of thubderboat row in a heartbeat. It’s crazy the detail he remembers on the boats and owners 20+ years after they were built

I'm surprised no one has ever attempted to make a Coffee table photo book containing history of Skater.

Unfortunately, once Peter is no longer with us, all his info and memory is gone with him.

Was the first 46 build in '93?

shel rohke sp ?? owned 2 early 46 skaters also ohio's Jimmy Dyke was the t-man. Dave Wessledyke of Michigan has the JAWS boat he brings it out every few years for a spin. There was a 46 down in the BVI that was the old Katana/Sloppy joe's. The late Randy Lienbach owned a early one also that he used to create the Airborne Cat pleasure boats..
