Popyachts?

Sorry to bring this back up, all of my searches show stuff 5-6 years old.

Are they still iffy? They’ve been on me like flies on sh*t after a listing.

Had a friend sell his boat last summer using them. Pretty easy transaction.

Just sold ours in Oct with them. Super easy and fast sale as well.

A buddy bought his Baja a couple years ago and really disliked the way the transaction went. It was unnecessarily difficult in his opinion.

My experience was as a buyer and I found their listing agents clueless on go-fast boats. Most of the agents were not located anywhere near the physical location of the boat and could not answer any detailed questions beyond whatever the basic ad displayed. Not sure of your location but as a seller I used GSC in Illinois and highly recommend them. Good luck.

Our boat this time was a CC so not a niche market.

However the agent came over. Took about 40 high rez pics and even did a full video walk around outside and in that was placed on YouTube.

I sold my Sonic with Suncoast and Scott was great as well but this one was even easier this go around. Took the Sonic almost 1 year to sell, Took the Everglades less than 1 month.

I’ve dealt with them before and in my experience has been most of their agents are purely telemarketers.

Many know zero about boats in general let alone the very specific toys we like to play with.
They appear to go after the mantra that more is better.

Also very little knowledge and or experience on value versus listing price.
I’ve seen many listings at twice actual value.

In my opinion they get clients to sign thinking they can get those exaggerated prices by advertising with them when in reality that hardly ever works.

Sounds like "Popsrv" on Ebay. Don't know if they are related. They are brokers. They take a zillion pictures and videos. RV's are located all over the place. Oh yea on Ebay they have a -1 feedback rating.

I just listed mine with Pop Yachts and the sales rep was local to me..... just came a couple days ago to take a ton of pics. He was very knowledgeable and nice as well. No complaints yet, lol!

I tried to buy (or at least consider buying) 3 different boats from them when I was looking. Each time the brokers were less than useless. 2 of the 3 listings had features listed that were clearly not accurate by the pictures and the broker had no ability or even desire to clarify these things for me. One of the boats listed the incorrect engine! Broker didnt care. After that i just never even considered their listings.

Had my 26 Outlaw listed on Boat trader already when Pop approached me to sell. Didn't cost me anything to let them try so I had them list it higher than what i had it on boat trader for so i would get what i wanted and they would get their commission if they sold it. If a buyer looks at a boat on their site they have to give a name and number and at that point Pop considers that person their client and will add the person to your weekly list of potential buyers they send you and per the contract they can come after you for commission if it is sold to the person without going through them. I sold mine via boattrader but the buyer did show up on a Pop list and when I asked him he had never spoken to anyone about my boat he got on the list just by looking on their site. Shady way to do business.

Tried to sell me a boat that I google researched as being stolen. Denied it and took the info I found to the recovery agent to collect the reward! They called on the weekend and left a voicemail whereas I called first thing Monday morning. They win and are complete SCUMBAGS!

BUP 01-12-2020 12:43 PM

USED CAR salesmen. They know nothing about the boats nor any mechanical aspects of any boat. Pure marketers only sales commission based.
