I'm working on 47 lightning, single diesel V12 2372cid, 38,88liter all aluminium, quad cam, 48 valve engine. It weight about 800kg (1750lbs), much lighter than triple gas engines. Bosch P3000 pump is ready and fueling should be good to 2500-3000hp, depends on efficient.
six speed gearbox, crossbox to twin surface drives that I have design myself.

maybe I can make project topic some day.
Tell me more about this engine. Aluminum doesn’t weigh 1/4 of cast iron, so the quoted weight is baloney.

525EFI weight 544kg (1200lbs) piece. V12 weight as much as one and half 525 engine, so I can save at least one 525 engine weigh. center of gravity will be also better because engine sit center in bilge and much lower.
I load some pics soon

Engine are used in many applications in soviet union and later russia. Poland they make still new ones. This one is T-55 battle tank engine, original power is just 500hp but later model engines are 1200 stock. Internals and block are same. It have billet steel crank and rods stock and forged pistons. aluminium block and wet iron liners. bottom end have cross bolted six bolt main caps.

The Outerlimits SV52 with quads ran 114mph during testing here at the factory. We also built a complete pleasure, bow rider, SL52 with a massive cockpit powered by triple Cummins QSB480 and NXT Drives and that went 94mph.

If I remember correctly, there was a 27' hull that some guys in Saginaw Michigan had a v-12 Allison in, that was in the 1700 hp range. Engine was installed ahead of the cockpit. They also set it up with twin surface drives. I think they had it over 100 mph. I'm thinking they did this in the '80's??? Don't know what ever became of it

A C32 marine engine weighs 7000lbs. If it was all aluminum it would maybe weigh 60% of that.

I think you’ve got kg and lbs mixed up if you think a 40L Diesel weighs 1700lbs

1750kgs I would buy. And I’m assuming that’s not counting the weight of charge coolers, heat exchangers, and jacketed exhaust that would normally be quoted in a dressed marine engines weight.

Once you’ve got a 6 speed trans good for 6000ft.lbs of torque and a drive, it’s going to get quite heavy.

Just watched a YouTube video of a V55 build / start up. Looks like 1700lbs dressed could be accurate.
