Custom Trailer Basics: Building Blocks

Simple but important—MYCO's Jon Smiley walks novices through the basics, https://speedonthewater.com/in-the-n...hoosing-wisely.

Myco was great to deal with on my new trailer I bought last year. To reiterate bigger and more in trailers is always better. I spec'ed my trailer with dual spares, a ladder, tool box, HD coupler, extra lights all around and and extra DOT stripes. Yes it looks great but it also adds another layer of safety and protection to the boat and you.

I like that bolt on coupler instead of that stupid piece of crap that Myco has always used. My Myco coupler is such a PITA trying to get it to turn loose. With the bolt on, its adjustable and you can choose different styles of couplers.

I just got one two weeks ago, they were very nice to deal with and the trailer towed well.

It looks like they have changed up on their EoH system of choice too.
FYI, that slip-in-tongue 2 5/16" coupler that Myco uses is manufactured just for them. I had to replace mine several years ago when my truck and trailer was vandalized by another OSO member.

Great trailer and sharp looking new boat. Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing it on the lake this Summer.

Thank you, I'll be keeping it in SW Florida for the winter and hauling it north in April.
