Saw that, how is that a licensed captain on that boat?

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't drive that boat for sh*t around the docks but I think I am smart enough to at least just shut the motors off, let the dock hands get some control, and then figure it from there

I run them quite often, in those conditions forget the thrusters. Fenders, competent dock hands, and dont panic. There’s always neutral. Well until a control fails lol

I just seen that, looks like that is going to be a expensive mistake.

My personal decision to not show a boat is partially people related...the other half is what was just brought up:

damage caused by traveling to the show
damage at the dock
what if there is inclement weather
damage caused by other boats

IMO boat manufacturers shouldn’t be showing boats paid for by customers. Boat shows are a marketing tool and should be expensed accordingly. IMO All boats should be funded by the company and sold after. Not even sure why a manufacturer would want to deal with the headache of damage to a paying customers boat.

Not many manufacturers are building spec boats for boat shows especially performance boats . Maybe some companies would build a boat for a dealer but either way someone is paying for it . Boat builders aren’t going to adsorb the cost of a boat for a boat show alone . If that was the case every boat show would be 20-25 center consoles and pontoon boats !

in my opinion this is the cost of doing business. Why should customers be sacrificial lambs...if they don’t like it then they shouldn’t be at the show. In the end it’s a marketing tool nice to have...not a must have.

obviously if a deal is brokered to show a customer boat...more power to the company. But it shouldn’t be an expectation. An likely an exception not the norm.
