Question for Fountain owners with the rap-around windshields ?

Thinking about using a Fountain windshield but need some info.
Do you find yourself standing or sitting and using the windshield for wind protection ?
Could it just be used sitting down ?

Thanks for the input. Randy

Not sure if this will help but here goes. I have the frameless acrylic "windshield" that is shorter than what you have posted. Standing, it does ok directing the wind over me. I do get some buffeting but that is to be expected. I've tried sitting on longer trips, I can't see the front of the boat. Lol.

I always sit when underway - particularly when running fast. My windshield has the factory tint.

I always stand and its fine for running around at cruise, when we are doing a long fast stretch like a poker run leg or really wanting to get some speed I still stand but put my feet all the way forward on the footrest. This sinks me down enough to get out of the wind but able to look over the windscreen. Factory tint, short windshield on ours also.

Yes, looking through windshield. A wise man once told me that the only way I could get hurt in a Fountain is if I was standing up while driving. So I learned to drive in the seated position.

...now maybe, if I asked him the same question he would say "dammit Ricky, I was high when I said that!" LOL

Nonetheless, I do believe its the safer driving position.

This is the boat I saw at Corpus Christi when I raced in B class.
It is not the same windshield but I think I could get about the same look. The Race Boat not the stock boat.

I prefer sitting as well, and even though I have a fever with the older style that has the little flip, it does a good job of blocking the wind and noise.
