I think a much better comparison would be a Cigarette 42x. What does a 42x run with 1350's?
A 42X with 1100's will hit 125, 1350's should be in the low 130's
Cig 46 with 1350's- 125 mph
Cig 50 with 1350's- 120 mph

Outerlimits 50 SL full cabin and high freeboard is a 145 mph boat.

I agree with offshorexersion- it's cool that someone is still building performance boats. However, this Fountain is nothing special at all. When it comes to the speed wars, Outerlimits has the crown. An equal sized Cigarette to the 47 Fountain would be the 42x, and it's a good 5 to 7 mph faster. Is Fountain still laminating with polyester resin, or did they finally step up to vinylester?

Just not impressed. Outdated design especially the swim platform and cabin door.

What does everyone think about the speed? 120-125mph just doesn't seem that fast for 1350s. I remember multiple posts over the years from fountain skank fans saying just wait until they make a factory powered 42 or 47........ well it wasn't worth the wait.

Badazz 47 Adrenaline packed with technology gadgets and bling runs 134 with only 1100s!!!

Outerlimits SV43 runs 151 with 1350s!!! I know there's some other models that might be more fair to compare but still.

What are some other 43+ 1350 boats running????

It's awesome that Fountain Baja and Donzi are building boats just seems like they have missed the mark with almost everything coming out so far.....
the new silver and black 50 OL runs 135-140 with 1100’s . This was a major discussion this year in key west while sitting at the bar with the fountain guys . I couldn’t agree more, it’s nice to see them building some boats but there lacking in my opinion .

I asked a question! Did they step up and finally start using quality resins or are they still using polyester? Simple question!

I don’t know what the 47 was built with but I know they use vinylester.

At 17,000 lbs I think it’s a vinylester/lead mix

A 52 SL only weighs 12,000 and a 47 Fountain weighs 17,000? I'm no expert but the numbers don't make sense to me.

You love the OL brand, I will give you that. They (OL) have always been the fastest boats on the internet. Educate me on how well the twin V OL raceboats have done since 1994 in the USA? Year after year, against the Fountain raceboats and other V bottom race-boat brands?

The 47' Fountain pleasure boat is lacking in your opinion, ok I get it, the opinion is heard and I respect that opinion, but to then throw in the OL stats is rhetorical, and reeks of cheerleading.

Let me ask you this, if there were waves to cross in the Atlantic Ocean, and the two brands were side by side with two pleasure boat owners who have an impromptu race on any given weekend while out boating (an unexpected race), who cares about that 50' OL with the 135-140 speed with 1100's, the Fountain is coming by, I know, you know it, the whole world knows it. Yes on flat perfect water on the Providence River on a cool day, the OL will always be faster, I get that but to have the OL brand shoved down our throats on this thread and many threads throughout the years is ridiculous.

This was a Fountain thread, not an OL thread, you have reintroduced how fast an OL is versus the "lacking" of the Fountain, the cheerleading continues.

I will advocate for Fountain now in a Fountain thread. Fountains have consistently kicked the sh*t out of the OL brand (twin engine classes) on the racecourse, that is not opinion but a fact, when you have to cross waves at wide open, and corner well, victory flags go the Fountain, the wins tell the story. Maybe on a dead flat lake or river the OL might have a chance, but the races I attend are in the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico where there are waves, not flat water
The single OL race-boat works great, but before you and the other OL cheerleaders pitch the greatness of the OL brand to people like me on this board, and I have been here since day#1 on OSO, it gets old, and it is tiresome. I seldom post, and yes, I do like the 43' OL SV and would be proud to own one, but the OL cheerleading while spiting a Fountain in a Fountain thread is bullsh*t.

Now we have a balanced thread
