Best Place to Retire for Boating
Looking to retire in 6 to 8 years where is the best place to retire with good boating but NOT Florida also somewhere with low taxes
|
Tennessee. Cumberland and Tennessee rivers. No state income tax. Or Kentucky, very western area same rivers.

Tennessee or Texas comes to mind. I’ve enjoyed living and boating in both places.

Why no Florida?

Maybe NC to GA. Some nice lakes in those areas.
Seasonal spring and summer boating hands down 1000 Islands and Lake Powell . IMO -- Lake Havasu is over rated especially to live there. Its a hot mess both ways too much of a party arena and the stinkin 118 degree weather that starts out in April and May and runs all summer long. Salt areas I do Like Long Beach CA thou. Im in Texas and the Lakes are Micky Mouse here, too small and many stump lakes for bass fisherman along with its a question mark every year are the lake levels going to be flooding or drought for 5 years in a row.. Austin Texas could fit but again in Texas the spring and summers and even mid fall are freaking blazing heat and chit load of mosquitos. |

LOTO is my choice for retirement , costs aren't terrible and with Grand and Table Rock in the region you can change the scenery
The water level is fairly well controlled and having a private dock is priceless |
