All in on crypto. Been enjoying the last year honestly. Definitely too many projects worth investing in and not enough capital, haha.

28 V 12-16-2021 10:18 PM

I've been day trading bond futures which move a bit slow...swing trading primarily NVDA & MSFT.
Both back to the 50 ma today (as is AMD)- also a LVN (low volume node- vol profile/daily) for NVDA so some support. Will see what tomorrow brings- futures near lows now for S&P, NQ.
AMZN at its 200ma today as is LC (a bit beat up now)...
COST is a monster- an entry point/risk is the challenge.

Seasonal strength on the long side..go Santa!

1MOSES1 12-16-2021 11:45 PM

I’ve been waiting for a Santa rally…haven’t seen the fat guy yet. Though yesterday was the turning point. Ended up being a giant bull trap.

hoping for greener days

I been flipping VXRT at a .30 to 1.00 gain per share on 3000 to 5000 shares, buy on dips and sell on their fake news, I try to get in in mid 6's and selling in high 6's, low sevens. Got in in low sixes once and sold in 9's. They are supposed to be developing a covid pill, might never work but every little speck of news and short squueze makes it swing for most part

My lame dividend stocks are just fine still earning 10% and just cruising along.
No I won`t make huge gains but I`m okay with that .

The market feels a little better this am on ever more news that Omicron cases are mostly mild. Tons of beaten down stocks out there. BKKT went $8 to $50 back to $8 yesterday. Reloaded hoping it bounces as it is shorted out of the wazoo.

That is crazy movement - will watch this one. I got into FERN at .02500. Maybe long term on that. What else is beaten up bad you recommend?

take your pick. Whole growth sector is beaten badly…wish, sklz, nndm, goco, clov, workhorse, mvis, znga, etc.

im guessing most meme stocks are dead

Griff 12-21-2021 11:44 PM

Another boring one to get into now and hold through about May 1st.
DPZ has NEVER lost in 17 years during this 19 week time frame and the 17 yr average gain is about 25%

Geeze dominos pizza is on a tear…who would have thought.

my guess is that local pizzerias and most brewery’s have in-house pizza would have eroded pizza chains bottom line.

guess I would be wrong

I still dont get Crypto. Been in and out a dozen times. What is the sense of a currency "free of any central control or the oversight of banks or governments" if it basically mimics the stock market. I still believe that too few people control it and were early. I have no problem with that, but when whales swoop in a sell and the value massively drops - yeah, I got a problem with that.

I've never been in actual crypto. Can't trade it in my IRA. I do trade some RIOT and MARA blockchain.

Your post is exactly what happens in the stock market. I don’t see how crypto is any different. There are only a few whales in stocks (ie black rock, etc). once the big guys decide to sell, it crushes the little guy.

Santa arrived- he may be a bit stingy this year, with exception of the tech big dogs (FANGMAN)...

NVDA rallied off the 50ma/lvn/gap zone at 272. Target is the VPOC (vol point of control- IRT vol profile) most widely accepted price at 300 (green line). Red lines 1st std distribution above/below VPOC.
Stop in gap zone at 265...R factor (reward/risk) 30/10=3, not great.
Surpassed the 300 today, if we get past the 313 LVN area next target is the HVN at 321.Moved stop to 298/302 on a portion.
Happy New Year & happy trading :)...

Holy Jeezus 28V, speak english here! Glad to see that you are doing well. I might sell of some losers this week and take the loss on taxes. I really believed that Draft Kings would be a great stock to own, but they have really stunk it up that last several months.

no kidding. they are spending way too much on marketing and user acquisition. There is no reason why they shouldn’t be making money by now.

That was a follow up post to my earlier post (522) suggesting there was a setup for a tech rally..at least that was my intent!
No fun to read about a winner after it has moved.

Here's a vol profile chart of DKNG...very little volume below the 24 area. The taper in this 26-7 area is normally associated with bottoming (vol profile analysis).
A break of 24-26 ish will likely yield a move to 20 (next area of volume)...a bit hard to see on the photo of my trading PC...(data from 1-21 to mid day today)

Best wishes to you for a move higher tomorrow..hopefully the New Year brings some 401K in flows on Monday..

Lane

Is DOGE and ETC crap? Should I take the loss this year or hope it will come back?

28 V 12-30-2021 01:34 PM

If I can help I can serve up ETCG chart but have no data for TO exchange (ETC.TO) and cannot serve DOGE.F (pink). Let me know if interested in viewing ETCG.
Vol profile just another tool- gauging interest at specific price levels/areas to assist with generating an edge, open to interpretation while common indicators are a derivative of price (MA, fibs, MACD).
Perhaps others have thoughts on your question.

Tough day...Fed released FOMC meeting minutes today- the bond market puked Monday apparently in anticipation and continued today.

Never made my NVDA target stopped myself out at 295...(Greed is permanent- fear is transitory :) )

10 year treasury yields (cboe index $tnx) spiked to 1.705% today

Bigcharts offers a free comparison tool for a stock to an index regarding crypto correlation comments above..I compared Nasdaq to ETHE...hard to see the NAS..

https://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/ad...false&state=13

I subscribe to CME/CBOT data- and can serve GBTC which is just below VPOC today (most widely accepted price) for one year of data in an area of prior support (33.04) if that helps any bitcoin enthusiasts. Looks like it participated on the downside today.

Happy Trading...

ICDEDPPL 01-05-2022 09:46 PM

Dividend stocks if anyone is interested . buy the dip

Pick #1: BTI - Yield 7.8%

British American Tobacco is the largest global tobacco company by revenues from the first half of 2021. It's a British firm commonly referred to as "BAT" and its American Depositary Shares trade on the NYSE under ticker BTI. Due to its substantial presence in emerging markets like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam, Brazil, and South Africa, BAT demonstrated 1.8% higher cigarette sales during 1H 2021. While combustible products represented more than 86% of the revenue mix during this period, this segment grew 5.8% YoY compared to the decline in this legacy segment for other big tobacco giants like Philip Morris International (PM) and Altria Group (MO). As income investors, we like this because BTI can utilize the cash flow from a steady legacy business to expand its new categories, namely vapor, nicotine, and heated tobacco products.

https://static.seekingalpha.com/uplo...1387487764.png

- Source: BAT.com

Remember the Marlboro and Lucky Strike promotions through the decals of F1 cars? Due to the negative view of combustible tobacco products globally, big tobacco was forced out of this mode of marketing. After 13 long years, Big Tobacco advertising in Formula 1 makes significant comebacks with BAT using its partnership with McLaren to promote its highly popular vapor device - Vuse.

Vuse is the fastest-growing vape product in the U.S. and the only one to have the FDA approval for marketing. Its growth will see tailwinds from the recent U.S. International Trade Commission ruling favoring BAT. The patent win enforces a ban on IQOS imports into the U.S. and the removal of the products from store shelves. Vuse was up 59% YoY in 1H 2021, and the growth is expected to continue without competition from other large rivals.

BTI is an excellent income stock that has rewarded shareholders with growing dividends for decades. Its GBP 0.539/quarter dividend calculates to a 7.8% annualized yield. Not only is this the highest yield among big tobacco companies, but it also comes at the lowest payout ratio of 65%. Meaning, BTI's annual dividend is covered by 143%! In the past 12 months, BTI earned $3.75/share, a 10.1% total return off which they distributed 7.8% to shareholders. You are getting growth by the company reinvesting part of its cash plus a very generous dividend

ICDEDPPL 01-05-2022 10:11 PM

have a bunch in ATAX also , good dividend stocks keep chugging along .
My Prefered stocks like GLP.PR.A , CIM.PR.C etc. didn`t lose anything today, just keep collecting my monthly dividends

ICDEDPPL 01-05-2022 10:14 PM

Tried playing the meme stock game like BKKT , that didn`t work out , no time to watch those things ... only put in $500 so i`ll be okay lol

Market blows. Way down today

Keith Atlanta 01-06-2022 08:46 AM

Following this thread for 3 months...

When is the market going to stop with the high PE tech stock bullcrap and actually going to appreciate and value companies that have a balance sheet, revenue and cash flow again? I dont understand the valuations of some of this stuff.

SabrToothSqrl 01-06-2022 09:30 AM

Woke up today and ALL the stocks are cheap stocks.

Good for buying. bad for me. lol

I am down but still up over what I started with in 2020 playing around.

Not worried about it.

The "tech heavy" Nasdaq index visited the October '21 lows Friday- futures are up tonight..perhaps some relief this week. Looks like next area of support at 14000. (Cash index NDX https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui )
FOMC meeting Tue/Weds- Monday may be a resting day and jitters mid week waiting for Fed speak. S&P 500 at the 200 daily ma Friday...been a tough couple of weeks for 401ks/longs.
Heres to a bounce & better week..:drink:

scarabman 01-24-2022 06:23 AM

I know nothing about trading fundamentals and watch a managed account from the sidelines, but given unfolding world affairs on the news this AM, my take is this week may be troubling

Tiki Joe 02-11-2022 10:04 AM

I've taken a beating on QUBT, CENN and AMPG....should I dump them or hope they come back?
I did buy Boeing, Carnival & Southwest back then at a good price that is offsetting the loss though.

resurrected 02-11-2022 12:04 PM

My opinion is that QUBT will make a comeback, to what extent I don't know. There was insider buying a couple of weeks ago, so at least they have faith in the future of the company. They were short listed out the world for that competition, to me that alone ads credibility to them. Just needs sales.
CENN is a crap shoot, its a niche market EV, what will it be valued at when profitable...... who knows. Holding or selling at a loss, only you know if that's what you want to do.

1MOSES1 02-11-2022 03:19 PM

I gave up on meme stocks…invest in solid companies that have good cash flow and turn a profit. All these others have been crushed and continue to be crushed.

not to say that you shouldn’t throw some money at potential growth names…you should. Wouldn’t bet the farm on them tho.
