Paging GlassDave

Hi Dave,I was wondering if I could pick your brain about repairing osmosis bubbles.I am redoing a 83 cougar cub for my daughter at the moment.I have already redone the stringers, transom and reglassed the liner, but the bottom has a whole bunch of nicks, dings, scratches and several bubbles. After I grind them out, what is the best route of repair?Resin and ballons?resin and fiber fill?epoxy and ballons? Please let me know so I only need to do it once .I would hate to repaint it and then have it let loose on me.

P.S.,what kind of paint would you suggest?

Thanks in advance

:D . . . uhmm . . . I would use west systems 407 as a filler in polyester resin and than gelcoat the running surface. Paint the rest of it with PPG's DBC basecoat and 2021 clear. . . . hope you were not patiently awaiting my response

hey. . . if he's anything like the rest of us he may still be workin on it :D . . . .

Not bad Dave, almost 5 years for a response :) Funny thing is I used resin and west filler on the bottom.

Now, in about 5 years, I will be redoing........any ideas what I should use?

:)

why do you have to re do it? is the West System coming off? or are you just getting some wear on it now?
