Here is another boat that I am intereseted in. Anyone know this boat. Its a 1998 with b max drives.
Sweet looking boat!!!!
Beautiful!:D
I can't tell if it's 32 or 37 from the angle and distance the photo was shot. I have seen it advertised as a 37. Haven't seen that many plain bottom 37's either. But it is good looking!!
It is a 1998 37 with b max drives. They had blower motors in the boat took them out and put stock motors in.I think the b-max is draining the horsepower. He says he is only getting 60 out of the boat.
Buy it! It's a beautifull boat. What motors, and what can be done to get her up to speed.
He has said he could swap out the b-max for the new bravos.I am thinking just build the motor some with super chargers.
Boscoe....
Ask Pat what's the deal with the speed. I thought plain bottom 37's with 502efi's ran 70-72mph. and 78-80 with 500hp's. That was 500hp's they used in the test boat in Powerboat several years ago..Correct??? |
I have the Powerboat article in front of me, 500efi's 80.6 mph!
Thanks for the words Fred I have been on the phone for about a hour getting info on the boat It seems to be what I am looking for . I have never rode in one and really dont know a whole lot a bout them .I think if I understood this right that the Active Thunder and the Sonic are the same hull .
Active Thunder and Sonic are NOT the same the hull. The 37AT is an amazing boat. You will not be disappointed.
Buy It!!!Nice boat!!! Active Thunder & Sonic have different hulls. The ride is awesome and you can't beat the classic lines:D

If you want a GREAT AT, I'll give you the number of a guy that has a BEAUTIFUL 37 AT, that was on the last trip. Fantasy Lane is the BEST 37 AT without steps out there. TOTALLY new boat :D New soild wood transom, new fuel tanks, new cockpit, Chief Engines, new drives, etc, etc,. Call me, if you want the numbers. They are sea trialing it tomorrow (11/09), but I can let you know. 770-720-3241 H 770-363-2185 C Robert Won't be less than the 41 that I have For Sale :p |
Hey Robert,
Thanks for the info. We will see how this one plays out .Looking forward to meeting you in Key West and having a look at Tonto. David Ledford 704-634-9004 |
I haven't read through all of the other responses so forgive it I repeat. But those B-Max drives are an expensive unit(s). I think they are good to 1000HP without hammerin them out of the whole. They are heavier than the new Imco Extreme drives but also have large shafts and large diameter holes for colling. If your gettin the boat for a decent price the drives make it worth it. No worry about droppin in power. And you will be powering up. Good luck in your boat purchase quest.
Vagrant, is this boat available in the Louisana area, I can't quite tell by the pics, thanks Jeff:)
Yes it is.
That's a real nice looking boat! If it's in your price range I would go for it. For another 12 grand or so you could whipple it and get 75 out of it easily. And you won't have to worry about breaking drives. Why did the guy put the stock motors back? Of course I would take it for a sea trial. And get a survey. Good luck! Also what others have said, call the factory and get some onfo on the boat.
David,
Sorry the boat sold this morning, the A/T that was in Jax. Robert |
Robert,

Joey we will be at the docks on friday, is there a good time to come by.
The boat pictured was the 1st 37 built. It ran almost 80mph with the original hp500's carb motors and bravo drives.A very nice and solid boat.
Fantasy Lane Too was my 1st 37.also a great boat.It ran 82 on gps with the same power and the x raised 2 inches. Both boats are great rough water machines!! I personally like the boats without the mill.cabin.They have a ton more room. |
which friday???
this friday we will be at donzi and then head for KW on sunday or so?? |
Joey we will be there Friday the 22
AWSOME LOOKING BOAT

Yea, what is a mill cabin?
Its the new millennium cabin, leather, extra storage, cabin liner, all the fancy crap.If you go to WWW.ActiveThunderBoats.com under "Latest News" you can see the new interior.Alot of people like it.I just think it takes up too much room.Besides to me its just a place to keep Beer and clothes.
