Ozark....the show
Anyone watching this? It's one of those things that sucked me in and I can't stop watching...for those that live there or have been there...any quest appearances from boats that we know?? Every episode I watch I wait to see a boat I recognize or even a stop that I've seen in pics since I haven't been lol
|
I got into it in 2017 after heading to the Zarks to look at a new boat. It’s an addictive series! But... It was filmed in Georgia, not Missouri.
|
I did not know that....makes sense that I haven't seen anything I recognize from peoples pictures lol
|
Yea I started following the series when it first came out. I have become addicted to it as well and can’t wait for the new seasons after I finish each one.
|
I've watched it twice, the second time through I caught something I did not the first time. When the Strip Club owner pulls up to the dock in season one, he is in a fountain and the boat name is Lickity Split...I know the show was actually filmed on Lake Lanier I believe...was this the owner of Lickity Split's (green cat that passed away) previous boat before they bought the green cat? This may have been discussed already on here but I was curious.
|
Good question....I noticed the name right away and made me wonder
|
Its more likely that it was named after the strip club he owned.

Season 1 was partially filmed at LOTO, but since then Georgia. The scenes you see in the following seasons are just add in's from the first filming. (They are mostly the sky view area shots) Our house was under construction at the time and in season 3 we could see it in the construction stage.Seemed funny!
We enjoy the nuances in the show loosely based on local folk lore or past happenings. (The writers were originally from LOTO) Fun to watch but seriously for entertainment not based on reality. Anyone else blown away from the ending of season 3? , Caught us off guard! |
They actually have more LOTO shots in this years series. They filmed a flyover near Alahonna, Horseshoe Bend Storage and Roanda Beach Condo's. Some other flyover's that are new to this year.
|
most of the show is filmed here in our backyard on Lake Lanier in GA. Some of it was also down on Lake Alatoona on north side of Atlanta.
Our old Formula 292 was in the first season when they were doing the church services on the water and handing out the bibles with drigs in it. |

Season 3 has alot more flyover LOTO scenery... x2 on Bloodline - easily my favorite show on Netflix.
|
Have been a fan of Ozark since it came out. The year and a half wait for season 3 was worth it... there were some great performances for sure. The ending was a shocker!
Will check out Bloodlines... today! |
One thing for sure... the Byrde's Sea Ray needs better over-dubbing for engine effects. They definitely do not sound like a hot boat that's for sure. LOL

The bar he bought "Blue Cat", is on Lake Allatoona, and is really called JD's on the Lake in Canton, GA. Years ago it was called something else, and a lot of fun to hangout at. A guy who owned an Apache and a Jaguar would pull up to the docks a lot. This goes back to 2008.

The Apache and Jaguar are Joe Kinser's from Woodstock, GA if I was guessing.

Lake of the Ozarks would make an awesome set for a show, but Georgia wins out when it comes to the tax credits that they give for productions. Money talks!

Very gripping show.
Once I saw the first episode, could help but watch everything that followed |
Yes, that's the one like Allez Vite.
|
Every character is disgusting but I love it.
|
Love the Hacker.
Sure does not paint a pretty picture of the year rounders living there.. |

Agree. It paints such a poor picture of LOTO and its citizens that I almost wonder why permission was given to film there at all.
Cant be good for tourism if the representation is that everyone is either a crooked redneck, drug addict or crooked politician. We have had a number of businesses start up restaurants/Bars etc that have nuances to the show. They have done well. We are a tourist area, so people come here to have fun and make fun of what there is here or around. We have had restaurants for years that have "adult" names: Big Dicks, Peckers, The Horney Toad, etc.... Seems like the description of Crooked Politicians, and Drug Addicts is every city in the country. Through in some thugs and it is..... IL, CA, NY or Washington DC. We just have the Red Necks! |

Another vote for Bloodline. We just binged on it again this past winter. Amazing how much you miss first time through. |

Hands down one of the best shows on Netflix. My only complaints:

. I’ve come to the conclusion that Ruth hasn’t completed an entire sentence in the series without the use of the F word ;) |
