Default Need Help Making Decision

I am trying to sell my 2600 American Offshore and I just had someone make me an offer. But I can't make up my mind to do it. He wants to buy my boat with out the engine. I'm just not sure if i want to go throught the hassle of trying to sell the motor once I sell the boat. I know your not suppose to sell items on this part of the board but I wondering if there is anyone out there looking for a motor or someone who could tell me what I should ask for my engine. It is a 509 cid(.30 over 502) with JE blower pistons, Lunati Hyd roller cam, Freshened heads with new valves, etc.... The engine only has around 25 hrs on it and runs awesome and is putting out around 675 hp. any info or comments would help. Thanks in advance

Is the offer good enough that with you selling your engine seperate you can get what you wanted out of the whole package?

Be honest with yourself about what your engine is worth.

Theres your answer !!!!!

Depending on how bad you need the money, I would tell him it is all or nothing. If he wants to pay full price and you remove and keep the engine that is fine. Much has to do with what kind of offer he gave you. My .02

Scott, I would only seperate them if you stand to make more money in the long run, otherwise I would hold out.
Chris
PS- If the buyer doesn't want the motor, let him sell it after he buys the boat, then recouping the money is his problem.
PPS- I'll give you $100 for it !

I seperated the engine from the boat on one of my sales, many years ago.

Believe, me when I tell you if I had it to do over I would not have done it.

What a PIA to sell the engine out of the boat. Everyone wants to hear it run, etc, etc. Never again.

my idea: selling an engine is easier then selling a boat.I would do that if the price is cool for engineless-boat.

thanks for all the input guys. I really don't need to sell it I just wanted to so i could start shopping for a bigger boat again. I know now i will just wait for the next buyer. And Chris(go4broke) what would you do with my engine, your sonic is set up for twins and if you put my motor in your boat you would need both of yours to equal it out lol lol lol lol.

Its always nice to have a spare around.

I plan on selling my boat and I'm trying to find a stock motor for it so I can keep my 540. Even when I buy a new boat I plan on building a new motor, my current 540 can sit and collect dust for all I care. I know how much time and money I have in it and I will never get it back.
Plus if I find a nice 69 Camaro I'm sure the 540 will be perfect !
