Considering an outboard cat....or maybe a center counsel

I just sold my 50 Marquis SC. I miss the speed of my Cigarette. I like many others find myself looking at the performance center counsels. I have been looking at 35 Statements, 34 Nor Tech's and 32 Sunsations. My budget is $250-$300k. A good friend of mine suggested looking at an outboard cat, I thought this was a pretty attractive alternative. Clearly the cc has a head and ample seating vs. the cat. Anyone have any advice and other thoughts and opinions? I boat mostly in Long Island Sound and ocean around Rhode Island so I see some decent chop and do encounter some nasty water at times. I know resale on cc's is excellent currently and wonder how the outboard cat market compares. The other consideration I have is leaving the boat in the water. I would need a lift with the cat and not sure on availability and pricing for that. Anyways let me know your thoughts or experiences.

Thanks,

Frank

I would visit the Nor-Tech factory, very impressive!

Depends on how many friends you want to bring and if you fish. IDK how well the OB cats compare to Cig for ride. My impression is that it’s rough up there so you’ll want a good ride.

You get cig CCs almost in that price range and they look great.

I am at this same crossroads with the same decision ahead.....Center Console or O/B Cat. My waters are not quite as rough as yours but I am leaning CC for a sense of practicality. The O/B Cats are awesome and I am caught between a MTI 340 and a DW360 but that amount of money for something so specialized is driving me towards the CC which I can off season down South with a captain and pay myself.

Buy a CC with some speed capabilities, and never look back.. The three you mentioned are all great boats, but I ran a 34 Sunsation for a day in Buzzards Bay, and let's just say, I opted not to buy one.
Nice boat, but not a Buzzards Bay, Long Island Sound boat. Big fan of the 34 Nortech

I’d prefer more size to a new boat, for ride quality. 38-39’

Frank, I like this Nortech ! ^^^^^ NOLI , is that one for sale? I think it meets your needs Frank. Jason will love the side by side seating too!

BONDO10 what about that 32 Sonic cat? Was that worth looking at?

That's a great looking boat Noli.

I think I will always want to satisfy the cat itch. Hoping one day I can, but I will admit insurance costs, etc.... Are considerations.....
