Introduction
Hello I’m M A short for MarkAnthony, I have just recently purchased a HiLiner Gypsy 222 it’s a 1972 I am registered on another site but that site seems to have a lot of people whom have a negative opinion without merit so I have come here hoping to chronicle my rehab, it was also hard to upload pictures. I’m from New England and enjoy fishing. The boat was dry docked on the cape after purchase I find a bunch of neglected areas I’m sure it’s just the previous owner didn’t know he was supposed to rinse the boat down after taking it out of the water. The first case was when tailoring the boat home one of the leaf springs snapped. The guy told me that he just had them replaced, maybe he did and still didn’t rinse the wheels and trailer down and they rusted and are junk. I will reach out to many of you for help along the way, thanks in advance.

Welcome.im also from Massachusetts ( southeast) near RI . When I was looking there was no shortage of neglected boats. Guy I bought mine from had it for a very short time ,which was a good thing cause he had no idea what he was doing.

You won't be able to upload pics until you have at least 10 posts.
After that, I'd start a thread in Classic Offshore section for the resto details and pics. |
ahhhh ok thanks I’ve been trying all day haha. Griff I frequent westerly and watch hill area for fishing every year. I have been looking into renting a slip in Providence next spring. There was another place I think pirates cove or something like that. I do have a question about re naming my boat I know that there is a ceremony but haven’t been able to find the text, my question is that I have a name but am unsure what state goes underneath the name is it the state were the boat is registered or were it is on a slip.

That's the model with the raised deck to accommodate a cuddy , isn't it ? I seem to recall that most of the I/O models came with the old OMC electric shift outdrive.
For their time they were great boats (I'd still re-do one .. :D ) along with the 'Moppie deck/windshield' model and the center console . Classics really . |

never been to any auctions, but would like to go walk a boat grave yard .ive been into cars my whole life and always liked walking the bone yards
If you happen to stumble upon a decent marine bone yard, let us know. Last time I was looking for some misc hull parts for my old boat, I had no luck at all. Seems like most marine salvage yards pluck the big ticket items and they just grind the rest. |
Yes this is a Cuddy cabin.

Windshield wiper is missing does anyone know if I can grab a smart car wiper and motor.
