I don't know if this is a 36, but it looks to be about that size. I love it in plain white.

I believe there are 3 OB 368 Skaters out there.
The cutdown boat that formerly belonged to Matt Rice, now in Cali/Havasu? The 368 White Cutdown that debuted at the 2020 Mia show owned by Sam Jirik. The full size 368 that was repowered from 400s to 450s by Supreme Marine and is in the video a few posts above. |

You're very close Greg - the first 368/400 was built for Matt Rice, and is now owned by my buddy out here in Discovery Bay. It's going back to Skater next month and getting re-rigged with 450s. As you stated, Sam Jirik's is the new 450 rig and I didn't know the full-size 368 was getting 450s now also. There is one other new 368/400 rig that was completed about a year ago - it's red/white and the owner purposely wanted it kept low-key. I hear it is for sale now. Tony currently has several orders for new 368/450 builds, so we will be seeing some new ones in the coming years.

Dale- do you know if any of these future 368s will be cut down to be more OB oriented like Steve’s if you know what I mean? The 368 is for all intensive purposes really an IO boat.

I don't know if any of them will be cut down as drastically as Steve's, I'm guessing they'll be closer to the cut of Sam's, but who knows? I've been in both Steve and Sam's 368s, and I can tell you that big guys would be much better going with Sam's cut. Steve's is aggressively cut down, and works great for short guys like Steve and I, but big dudes 6' 2" - 6' 6" would be wishing they had a deeper cockpit/bigger seats.

But I’m seeing the speeds just aren’t there. I think Sams boat only ran low 120s, everyone else is in the 130s. I guess they aren’t building that new 32 are they? And you know I’m a Skater fan.
I also remember hearing of a new 32 skater in the works with a wide tunnel and new bottom design but have never heard anything further? Sounded like it was going to be a purpose built outboard. |
