ProCharger?

Pro Charger claims huge gains in HP, how come you don’t see them in every boat?

Why would there be one in every boat? Not everyone wants an engine with boost. Some people enjoy building NA engines or using stock NA power. There are quite a few individuals on here that have had good results with Prochargers, but it depends on your end goal. HP is not everything with boats. The lack of TQ compared to a roots style or Whipple can be the difference in getting on plane with the big prop you will need to use that extra HP.

To add to Rookie, prochargers are the easy bolt on horsepower that some think. They require fuel system upgrades, PCM tuning and drive upgrades. Now a $6k procharger turns into $30k to be done right and reliable.

That why.

Totally makes sense. That’s why.

Prochargers and other centrifugal superchargers are great, I absolutely love them but the major downside is packaging. They can make similar power numbers as other styles just takes a little more custom work to complete the "kit". Mounting the cooler is harder but most don't realize you can still use a roots or twin screw style intercooler with a plenum on top. I wish more people would run them "properly designed". Cost us similar to other properly designed EFI setup blowers
