96scarab 09-24-2020 11:18 AM

He was redoing the boat and about 80% finished, but ran out of time and interest. He sold it a year or two ago.

KCHOTBOAT 09-24-2020 01:33 PM

I sold it a year ago to a guy out east. He has it running a honest 90 mph.

TexomaPowerboater 09-24-2020 04:42 PM

Glad to see the old girl running. Man what a money pit that boat was, took every penny I had and then some. No more wrenching in the bilge for me after that boat. I drive a small outboard boat now and haven't missed a weekend due to broken down boat since I sold the apache.

It has not been the same boat since the day you sold it. Everything has been repaired or replaced. I knew when I got it from you it was a project boat. It is hard to read but it did run 90 on gps. We are talking about buying it back. It maybe the fastest NA 28 Apache in the country.

I seen that video also.
Anyone familiar with that inlet. Why does all the big sportfishing yachts hook to the left going in and just about every other boat blast straight in?

TexomaPowerboater 09-29-2020 09:24 AM

Those are impressive numbers for NA, are they still using the same 502 blocks I bought?

No all redone. Same blocks but not how you sold them. Like I mentioned everything in the boat has been changed replaced or repaired. It is not the same boat from years ago. Including the trailer.

Coming in from offshore, you enter in the center of the inlet and then the channel actually goes to the left, closer to the rock jetty before curving back to the right and dumping into the bay. The sport fishers follow the marked channel, but most of the smaller boats can go straight through and over the shallower parts of the inlet.

The boat in question is a 32 Hustler and owed by Jerry Thompson who owns East Coast Offshore in West OC at the harbor. I think it is for sale. It runs great and handles great.

Thanks, figured as such, but wanted to clarify. Beer to ya.
