Is mercury going to sell a marine version of the 32valve 750 hp LS engine
I doubt it
Don’t hold your breath. I asked shortly after they rolled the motor out when the marinized was coming out and the reply was they don’t have any intention of developing a marine version.
how much is the automotive version?
Why not?
Why wouldn’t they? Are they afraid the reliability would tank their parts business???

Seems like a better engine than the old school sbc in every way. and they make a lot more hp |
That was 2016 and haven't seen much since. The wild part about those is the Merc DOHC heads on an LS short block. Either way, (Standard head or DOHC) It would sure be cool to have a marinized big inch LS with a warranty!
That said, I recently took part in the installation of a 450HP Marine Power LS3 into an older Ski Centurion and it went fairly easily, aside from missing the fuel pressure sender and having to call MP to figure that out. I bought the engine originally thinking I would offer an accessory kit for the guys wanting to provide their own LS but never got around to it and sold the engine to a buddy. |
