Thoughts on wakeboard/surf boats

Recently purchased a 2018 G23 super air Natique, kids wanted something to play behind. Still have the 25outlaw to make noise in, but this new one is
is a lot of fun for surfing and wakeboarding, i know a lot of y’all dont like the wakes these things put off but man these are pretty fun and the options and
all the things its capable of doing is crazy. Anyone else play on the other side ?

Maybe if I lived on a lake, but I wouldn't live on one by choice so no. But I can see the appeal.

I hate these boats...well, I guess I should say the irresponsible OPERATORS, with a passion. Far too many of these tools care NOTHING for what they are doing to the water, totally destroying others' ability to enjoy skiing/wakeboarding/kneeboarding, etc. There is a place for them...on a designated lake of their own, perhaps...but not...IMHO...around other boats.

I live on a lake and there are several of these, i am very cautious where we surf and wakeboard to not cause havoc on the water for others. I used to be
the guy who hated running up on one of these waves or sitting when they went past and almost getting rocked off the boat so i know to not be that guy.
I can take in 3500lbs of water plus the weight of the boat at 6500-7500lbs creates a HUGE wave, these boats are massive. So i only run out near are dam, no boats and no property we can damage.

I have seen others who dont give a rip and just act as though they own the water, these idiots ruin it for the ones just trying to share the same real estate and
be on the water.

The Nauti G23 is the top dawg of the wake surf boats with good power from PCM - they hold up when a lot of tow boats start falling apart.... just do the required services including the FCC fuel filters and annual impellers is a must.

The G23 handles additional fat sacs if you ever need a bigger wake (Just make sure the installer gets the fill and drains properly situated

I agree fully, I originally bought a Malibu 23lsv and dumped it in two weeks, did not like it at all, took the natique 23 out and loved everything about it. It’s taking some time to get used to a inboard ( v-drive ) especially in reverse, and the top speed being 37-40mph. I am not in need of the additional plug and play system at the moment but
will have the dealer install if ever needed, this thing already puts off a massive wave and we are all learning as we go.

Very nice looking boat, I’ve never seen one and probably never will where I live.

I remember 35 years ago, owning inboard vee drives with headers over the back to burn yourself on or more practical mid mounts, so we could slalom ski all day on nice water. We hated houseboats and just about anything that made a ripple in the water. Pre jet ski days and wake boats.......Who would ever have thought people would want a big wake out the back?

Times change and although most of oso dislike wakeboats, it sounds great to be on the water getting fresh air and doing something that requires a bit of fitness and skill rather than sitting home playing with tech gadgets and social media. If I was a bit younger and had an active family, I’d be all over it. I grew up on a water ski so why not a wakeboard? It’s the 21st century. 🙂

Hope you keep enjoying it without upsetting the other boaters, no reason you can’t all get along........somehow......!

They’re the best a what they’re built for, but lack at everything else

Are the stern drive wake board boats( with the Volvo forward drive) that bad at wake boarding and surfing?....they have to be better at all other aspects
