Are the Bahamas open?

Trying to blame covid as a reason to not have to deal with some of the people for Christmas, is it all still open? Flights to Nassau are dirt cheap on points right now, same with ocean front Airbnb’s.

Just don’t want to get there if it’s all shut down (if that even happened)

Also are bars open on Christmas and Christmas Eve normally?

Just saw an article today and was thinking the same damn thing! Atlantis is open Dec 10 - If you stay on property, you cant leave. To my knowledge, everything else is closed.

Just pull up the Atlantis website

Nassau (where Atlantis is) is a sh!th0le........ My neighbor has an office in Nassau and he hasn't returned since March. He left for the weekend, left food in the condo fridge thinking he was coming back in a couple of days and he didn't want to get stranded there if they closed the border. It can't be good with no tourists (and more importantly their money). I'd pick another island.

With Atlantis closed for months, I'd expect even worse service/amenities than usual. The last time I stayed there it was ridiculously busy/overpriced and the service was dead fair since they were guaranteed 18% gratuity on everything. Ice cream cone in the marina shops....12.5% VAT +18% gratuity! They likely want to enforce the "must not leave the grounds" rule to force you to spend more money with them!

Just returned from Bimini. Immigration was a major pain. Make sure you go online and complete all forms 72 hours in advance. Also you will need a negative COVID PCR test. This is only good for five days after testing. Rapid test required to stay. If you get caught without a mask on it will cost you $5k.

Good luck, we found it a pain
