Ed & Claire Cutshall are the owners, proprieters, and jewelers. Ed makes all the work, and Claire cuts all stones but diamonds. Check out the Jubilant Crown diamond; and she will be the only one she ever meets with this diamond. It is the chit! http://www.huntcountry.com/jubpg.htm Tell them Brian Tillett sent you. |

ShagNasty,
I just bought a 2 carat diamond from Cardow Jewelers in St Thomas. Those guys have a awsome aray of diamonds at unbelieveable prices. They will also nego. Good Luck David |
Hey Vagrant!!
Anyway you could email me or let me know roughly what you paid for it. Fortunately enough, my girlfriend doesn't want something huge!! She tried one on lastnight that was only 1.08 carats. It had an E color and a SI-2 clarity. They wanted 3995.00 for it. She would like something a little bigger. She tried on a 2 carat, but she said it looked too gaudy on her hand. She said 1.2 to 1.6 would be nice. I don't want to go broke, but at the same time buy her close too what she wants with the quality to make it worth something later on. Thanks for the input guys!! |

I got Tracy's ring from a friend of mine. I can tell you he will give the the best deal around. I looked everywhere and came back to him when it was time to buy her engagement ring. His name is
Mike Hakula 608-868-7200 He has a web sight but I'm not sure of the address. They also have a toll free number that they will give you if you call. I just did a deal with him in the last few weeks. I went to the so called wholesales and Mike was way more fair than they were. Give him a call....can't hurt to see what he can do for you. Good luck. Todd |
Todd,
Would you mind letting me know how many carats and roughly what you paid for it? Email me if you want. Thanks |
Thunder Dan
Sent you an email!!! |
29scarab,
Ryan is right, I own diamondsource.com. As you can see from all the responses, it's a very competitive business. I don't want to discredit any of the Jewelers/Brokers listed above. But I will sell you a diamond for less than anyone on the planet. I extend this offer to anyone struggling with the "High Performance Boat" addiction. We could make it interesting by posting your best deals on this Thread. If you would prefer to keep it private just E-mail me. The 1.08 E SI-2 you found for $3995 I have for $3650. I also have a 1.21 E SI-3 for $3875 I only deal in certified diamonds. I assure you if you compare apples to apples, I will give you the best deal. Steve Quick 800 404 0058 |
Good Luck in your quest for the right ring. Call and ask for Rocky, he owns S.E. Joseph Jewelers. Not only does he sponsor the Jacksonville Firefighters River Rally, he is a super close friend of mine and if he doesnt treat the two of you better than anyone you've talked too; I will stop posting on this SITE! 800-771-7625 or 904-398-1333.
PS: Tell him Craig sent you |
29Scarab,
Check you email Todd |
What is that old reference for how much you should spend, like 3 months salary or something? It seemed like it was a huge amount of time span for a ring. Seeing this thread just made me think of that again and wonder what it was. (of course, I think the rule of thumb was created by the diamond sellers/manufacturers:D:D)
|
32fever,
You're right. The two, three or four month salary idea came from your helpful friends at the De Beers corporation. They control a large part of worlds diamond production. I usually suggest that you spend an amount that's comfortable for you. Just remember that this ring is as exciting to her as your dream boat would be to you. You should not cheap it. But as a high volume diamond seller, I can assure you. Very few people spend three months salary. It's nice to see the loyalty from the board members above. I still think open bidding on this thread would get 29fever his diamond for the lowest price. It would also finalize the question of who will give him the "Best Deal". He can report after the sale on the quality of service he received. Steve Quick www.diamondsource.com Steve Quick Jeweler Chicago 800 404 0058 |
I would recommend buying a GIA cert. diamond no matter where you get it. Cut quality is just as important as color/ clarity. The cut really give it the sparkle. I bought my wife a 1.5 caret H/ VS2 VG, VG and it is a very nice rock. Paid 6K.
|
Luxy60,
Excellent advise regarding the cut. There are four C's (cut, color clarity and carat weight) and cut is listed first for a reason. It sounds like you bought a great diamond. If 29scarab contacts me I'll be happy to explain the whole story to him. Steve Quick www.teamlamarine.com |
Ok, guess we'll just let this go to the "Old Thread Bin". Not the smartest move on my part anyway. Inviting a public bid war to decide who is willing to make the least amount of profit.
So many people come to me with a deal their , friend in the business gave them. I always give them something better. And when it's a fellow racer/boater I do even more. As I said earlier it would have been fun to prove who is really the best in a public forum. Maybe some other time. Steve Quick www.teamlamarine.com |
Sean-
Who is the lucky girl? Have I or Brenda met her? |
A buddy of mine just got cold feet and is selling his ring. It's a rectangular modified brilliant stone, 1.1 carats g color, vs1. The band is platinum w/24k accents and 4 stones w/tcw 1.2. It's appraised for insurance at 11,500. He wants 6k for it. It's also GIA cerified.

stevequick,
I am currently planning on trip to Chicago this weekend. My plan was to come visit you. I don't think this was a bid war. I was just asking for some input from people on the board. This is something Extremely important to me and if I had to spend more for something my future half wanted than the so called "best deal", I was willing to do so without question. I think this thread may have taken a wrong turn somewhere. Shawn Chuck beecher!! Whats up!! Its my little blonde bombshell DeAnna!!!! |
Shawn,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I just wanted to make a point. Everyone knows someone in my business. It's hard to know who to listen to or where to go. I thought it might be interesting to see if any other jewelers would be willing to do as much for you as a fellow boater. I received your E-mail and it would be great if you could come to Chicago. We'll roll out the "Red Carpet" and have so many diamonds for you to see, you'll get tired of looking. Also a thousand or so settings for them. Steve Quick www.teamlamarine.com |
Steve,
I emailed you again!! Take a look!! |
All that glitters...
My buddy Vinny Boombotz down at the pawnshop
says if your ol' lady doesn't have a loupe, size is everything...in a diamond. Can ya actually TELL one is better than another JUST by looking at it with the nekkid eye? Always amazed me you could take something essentially worthless outa the ground, polish it up, and sell it for big bucks. RB |

Apache 77,
In the non-certified, out of pawn, diamonds no one ever asks for department. You are the man. I have a customer for you. His name is Bermudez. Steve Quick www.teamlamarine.com |
You've got our attention!
Send me a email. I'm starting the hunt this weekend! I'm starting with the O.S.O. recommendations. |
Steve ,
Did you get my email?? |
Shawn,
I received your E-mail. It sounds like you will have a busy day on Saturday. Let me know if you are planning to visit our store. We are also open Sunday (11:00 to 5:00) if that helps. If you're seeing who I think you are on Saturday, you will be very glad to see us. Keep in mind some of the excellent comments your fellow OSO members have given. #1 Only look at GIA certified diamonds, it's the only way you can be sure of quality. It is also the ONLY way you can compare prices. We know of certification labs that will certify a diamond any quality you ask them to. GIA is untouchable. Remember we all want the unbeliveable deal, which makes us vulnerable. Any jeweler that compares his "other" certificate to a GIA cert is lying to you and they know it. Stick to your guns. Hopefully you do this once in your life. You'll be talking to people who do it every day. They are masterful at bringing you to their way of thinking. #2 Cut (cut, color, clarity, carat weight) is the first of the four C's for a reason. Ask them to explain it to you. Accept only premium and ideal cuts. #3 Buy in Chicago and ship to Texas to avoid paying Illinois sales tax. Most people who buy high ticket jewelry ask us to ship it to another state. It's perfectly legal for us to do and saves you an additional 8.75% Good luck Steve Quick 800 404 0058 www.teamlamarine.com |
Thanks Steve!
I'll talk to my honey about the schedule and see what she has to say. Thanks again! |
