The boat in pic 85 has me stumped. Looks like a 36 DW but not quite, and it can't be a new 390 MTI.

Its a Doug wright 390 - Not sure of any details, maybe a shortened version or the same as what performance boat center calls a 420 |

The cockpit is a lot smaller, but I do not disagree. It could be a one-off build.

I am also confused as to what that DW390 is. I can't keep up with all the new branding of the boats nowadays. Some include the fiberglass that runs past the transom, some don't. Some manufacturers come out with a model that all of a sudden becomes a different model without ever actually changing size. There's a West Coast manufacturer that has added a bustle to several of it's old models and all of a sudden they have new models that are 3'-4' longer, even though the actual hull and lengths haven't changed and aren't new. Call me old-school, but I believe the the length stated of any hull model should be the length from the transom where the drives or outboards mount to the tip of the V or sponsons when the hull is pulled from the mold. Or just have the model listed with two numbers - the first being the actual hull length and the second being the LOA. I think that would help solve a lot of the confusion.

The 390 DW is the 38 inboard hull ( Like the old Fury Race Boat) with a flat deck/ Windsheild. Sounds like a runs well. |
