The Stock Class was so much cooler back then! The boats looked way better with the 15"-mid V6s on the back and the sound of 2.5 two-strokes screaming at 8,200 rpm was a night and day difference from the low hum of the V8 four-strokes going past the beach nowadays. The Stock Class still delivers the most exciting racing on the course though; I will give them that!

I was driving the old High Risk boat with Rick Felson at my side "lots of laughs that are forever etched in my mind"-Rick said I scared him, I responded-its missing a motor from the days you ran it-he said "thank God, I don't remember it being so fast". We ran them out a long ways in order to get an even start a couple times that week.
