someone with very little wheel time has no business running a boat like that at haul over inlet. the dude with “50” years experience should have seen those waves from a mile away and shut the driver down before it got ugly.
Glad no one got killed. Speedy recovery to everyone involved. |
This is why our insurance rates are high.

If you look closely those passengers in the back were practically levitated off the floor before crashing down.
Sweet friggin boat though. Yes you can see them probably close to a foot off the floor before impact. I watched this a half dozen or so times now and get more pissed each time I watch. There is no excuse for being a complete irresponsible idiot with others lives in his hands. Considering the injuries of those passengers they will likely be impacted the rest of their lives in one way or another. I’ve always told people when they get in my boat there are always risk. Riders always wanna go fast, jump waves etc. Well most anyway. I just drive with the best of my capabilities and have fun with the safety of others always top priority. I was running hot on lake mi south of grand haven while a 32 AT was approaching at close to 80 in 3 to 4 plus footers and my stbd drive popped out of gear. Didn’t end well and coulda been worse however my friends wife ended up in the hospital with 2 broken ribs and several bruises. I felt horrible.... absolutely horrible even though they insisted I didn’t get passed by the AT. That was equipment failure for sure. The boat recently had the same side drive and cable replaced at the factory and the cable had stretched. I learned a valuable lesson. Check all like a captain of a plane prior to departure. Am i mistaking or does it appear the cig is running 60 to 70 mph. Wtf... Would liked to have seen someone choke his little bird neck and taken over the helm. |
Cigarette racing posted this vid as if it was funny and cool on Instagram .
I don`t think people getting hurt and someone breaking their back is funny at all. Driver is a fuc king idiot you never go that fast at those types of waves, this dude is worse then the fountain guy . I think he thought he was going to be handling those waves like Allez Vite but he has neither the boat or the skills . |

Not to call you out like a dick but the "Cigarette Racing team" that posted it is NOT Cigarette them self and is not run by Cigarette. @cigaretteracingteam - is the real Cigarette run page and the video is no where on there. They have the blue check mark and their last post was 5 days ago and was the new 42x running near the Glacier. @cigaretteracing - posted the video and a separate and personally run account not owned, run, or affiliated with Cigarette themselves. Just dont want to see a brand or person get slammed for something they actually didnt say or post is all. |

What a RUSH regardless. That’s run with some confidence and aw-thor-ti.

I've been watching the Haulover videos for some time and it looks very tricky to navigate. Too slow and you repeatedly stuff. Too fast and you get big air. I've seen a lot of bowriders take on a whole lot of water and most of the boaters don't have enough sense to have everyone in the back of the boat until they get past the breakers. There is video of at least one boat sinking and another of a passenger flying overboard.
|
He obviously has no business driving a boat of that caliber. He didn't even back out of the throttles or stop after his passengers were all on the ground. Realistically he deserves to be paying all medical bills.
|
The owner is on FB and friends with a lot of folk in the offshore boating world. Dont recall his name but recall his post about buying it rather recently.

If it was deeper/wider like Port Everglades or Govt Cut then the water doesn't get as nasty. |

Easy with the pitch forks and mob mentality. Sh*t happens. People makes mistakes, have poor judgement at times and / or do stupid stuff. I don’t know this guy but that sucks. Feel very bad For all involved. I know I’ve personally looked back and thought to myself “damn that was close / lucky / could’ve ended bad...” hope everyone makes a quick recovery. And is able to boat another day. Not sure who built it but Bernie was selling it NJ for awhile. 39 ft and 2200 HP.............you better have some skills or maybe start with a 38 and 1/2 the HP! Schuble got a pretty good launch leaving Port Everglades in the OSO Gladiator (1:47 mark). VIdeo is 15 years old and plenty of stupid sh!t going on (and notice not a center console in the whole video!) |
The OSO Gladiator is probably THE most abused Cigarette in modern times. Gary Sanchez and I were leaving SoBe years ago, Miami Boat Show week; Gary and I in the F2-TG (that the Lucky Strikes owned x2), and Titos was driving Steve's Gladiator when it had the 496 Vortec GMC motors in it. We were following Titos up to Phils to park the boats for the night.
Leaving Government Cut, Titos and the 36' Gladiator literally... ...dropped completely out of sight about 300 feet in front of us, and then drove up the face of the wave in front of him so vertical, that I could no bullshlt, read the GMC logo plain as day across the BOW of the boat. I'll always remember Titos driving a "rented, rented, boat" that day. :D |

I just want to know when the memes or dub step remixes are coming.... :bananalove:

For being a cat and that size, in that water, I’m way impressed w/how well that boat ran.
Looked great and nice wheel work! Very impressive. I take back everything I’ve said about cats. Well, most of it 😉

I have been wondering for a while how well these very light OB cats will handle in rough water.
How did they do at the Joey Gratton run, I missed it this year but know it was sloppy? |

It was definitely snotty on the gulf on the 31st. Here is s 7 min clip of the start in the bay and out to the Gulf. We hung with the big cats and Vs for a bit, then watched in awe as Platinum Addiction 42V rolled by and passed TaTonka while 6 people drank martinis. LOL
