From everything that I hear, Suzukis are a great engine. That said, they do not make a "fast" lower so over 75 mph or so they just have too much drag. A guy in Australia had a couple of 300's on his cat and he suggested against it if speed was the goal. On a fishing boat, durability means more than top speed, in my opinion.

The trick is to get the cases out of the water.
W/the low water pickup, you can surface the case then it won’t matter how big it is. Id try a pair.

In my experience, the only time a nose cone has done me any good, is to give me low water p/u when the motor (‘s) way up.
Every other time it slowed the boat down and doubled the needed trim to fly the bow.
