Racing in the 450R outboard class

.

With MTI already having solid plans for the upcoming 450R class, I looked around for another contender and saw this in FB and Instag-gram.

What a perfect candidate for the 450R class

Victory Powerboats VTX 34 would fit the class requirements also

DW is building a 38' version of that hull for the 450R class. Don't expect to see a Skater in the class, as there are no hulls ordered to be built for it right now that I'm aware of. My guess is that you'll see the factory-backed MTI, a PBC-backed DW and probably a Victory as the first boats fielded in the class. I doubt John, or any of his customers have any interest in building a Mystic for the class, and I'm certain that Pete has zero interest in building a Skater for the class. It will be interesting to see how/if the class grows over the next few years - and also the impact it has on the Stock class. Are guys going to move up from Stock, or will there be enough new race teams entering the outboard classes for Stock to remain healthy with the addition/growth of the 450R class?

I hear talk of a 34' MTI team coming as well.

We will see how it shakes out. Fountain needs to throw a 34' TC into this.

The first 38 DW is not a PBC backed 450. It will be a fun class to watch and a great way to develop 450 strength enhancements as needed.
