Enclosed Bow Grip Pad??

Does anyone know of anything like this? Long story short, I have to go up on my bow a lot to throw a front anchor. I would like to have some sort of clear grip pad to walk on that acts both as a grip pad and to protect my gelcoat. Will walking on the gelcoat damage it over time? I just dont want to damage the coat walking on the bow every time I go out to throw the anchor... Suggestions?

If the bow and the rest of the boat is constructed reasonably well then unless you're a real big boy I don't think you're going to hurt it by walking on it.

I have not seen a clear grip pad, however I have seen many boats using Marine Mat, and Sea Deck down the center of the deck. It gives a softer feeling when walking and is non slip. Stu Jones from Florida Power boat club did his Cigarette with it, so did Tank here on OSO. Look up a thread "Tank Back in the Saddle again" for photos. It looks nice and does what you are looking for.

Buy a yoga mat. It works perfectly for such.

There is also a clear spray-on grip that can be applied. Not sure what it's called. But, I had Mitcher T add this to my tunnel tab so I can stand on it in the water to work on the outboards.

Or you could just get some of those socks with grips on the sole like old people wear. :)

I used 1" tape on my tubular swim platform. It sticks and holds up well.
