What are the 600Rs he is referring to?

“Hull number one of the 55 Special is nearing completion and will soon be tested at Mercury’s Lake X facility,” said John Clarke, president of Jaguar Powerboats. “With the 600Rs, we’re expecting to top speed of 75 mph—in a boat that offers all the amenities and luxury one would expect in a world-class yacht.”

That "R" was an error in the original press release from Jaguar. (The initially called it the Mercury Marine 600R.) Jason caught another one but missed it in the quote. It has been changed. Apologies for any confusion.

Looks beautiful. Many new boats I read about are a natural progression from a previous boat. This Jaguar looks like something ‘all new’ which is refreshing to read. Also like the idea of using only two of those 600’s. If you can push a ‘cruiser like’ cat to mid 70’s, does anyone really need more than that? Not me.
(Of course my opinion doesn’t count for a lot because sadly, I’m only a reader, not a buyer.)

RR.

This is exactly the type of boat I was hoping we'd see after the introduction of the Merc 600's. I can't wait for it to actually hit the water so we can see the speed/efficiency data. Great looking machine!

Just out of curiosity, I roughly sketched one up with an extended console, enclosed greenhouse and a matching PWC on the platform between the outboards. The possibilities are endless!
