Still looking and planning this guys. Will be in LOTO next week but I doubt many used boats will be available for us to get on board. Anyway, a good buddy of mine is a Nortech fanatic and keeps pushing them. How does a Sunsation 34CCX compare with a Nortech 340 Sport? He claims the Nortech is "on another level" and I shouldn't even be thinking about Sunsation?

Not a cut down to the Sunsation, but there is CLEARLY a price point difference and that is because of the standard of boat. When new, Nortech's are 2x the price of the Sunsation. One cannot survive a price point on name alone. |

Sorry, I stand corrected!!!! Just googled it, Sunsations have gone up since I was around them. To be honest, I am surprised. But it is what it is.
So, Aside from the price, Nortech: refined luxury, Sunsation: Bright/Bling. It really comes down to what a person who is purchasing wants out of a boat. That is all that really matters not what the rest of us think you should buy. :ernaehrung004: |

This boat will be used around the Tampa/St. Pete area in the Gulf. 2) On flat water, which boat would be faster with equal power? 3) For resale, which brand would hold value better? |

I've owned two Sunsations, a 32 dominator and the F4. Both well built and factory support is outstanding. When I went to the CC I narrowed it down to the 34CCX and the NT34. Ended up choosing the NorTech. Hard to go wrong either way, just a matter of which one fits your needs the best. We pretty much never use the cabin, so that didn't come into play in our decision.

I believe your friend is incorrect.
Nor-tech is a great boat but so is the Sunsation, I am betting your buddy has not been in the Sunsation and is letting the fan boy in him come out a bit much. |

Mine is a 2014, and Sunsation was just getting into the CC world then, and NorTech had been in it for awhile, so some of the things that influenced my decision then do not apply now. Since Sunsation was just starting to build then, they weren't as flexible about some options I wanted. For example, I wanted a bow thruster, and they were not yet including them as an option. NorTech was already offering diamond stitching and other small things that we preferred. But one of the main things was how we use the boat. At LOTO we use it mostly to hit establishments to go out for lunch or a cold one. We had small grand children. We highly preferred how the back end around the swim platform was designed on the NT. Ingress and egress seemed easier and safer. Where the ropes tied off when docking did not interfere with getting in and out of the boat from the swim platform. I thought both boats were made well. I preferred the lines of the NT over the Sunny. Both road similar. I do think the NT tends to be a dryer ride since the hull sides are slightly concave versus Sunsation designs their sides slightly convex. You will notice that the concave sides tend to push the wave/wind spray away from your passengers. I also preferred the cooler seat as an additional seating area over the back small bar area on the 34CCX. It was really mostly a half dozen small things. The biggest being my wife liked the NT better, and she was fixated on the entry exit thing at the docks. In the end, we had W&W replace the cooler seat with a fabricated seat facing backwards with an electric foot rests. This is where the girls sit under way all the time now.

Another preference I had was NTs option to place the steering to the side instead of the middle. For the most part, we never have 3 people riding in the driver area so we preferred the double seat over the triple.https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d3c910a70.jpeg
