Monza?

I'm looking for information on my 1988 "monza". HIN says it was built by sunshine boats miami. Looking for more if possible.
it's a 24 cig style hull 6ft beam.
Thanks

I had one built around 85/86, was great strong boat, I watched it being built at the plant with Eloy. You put the bow down and throttle down and that little boat would go through anything! It was a 7' beam .

Eloy and the boys built a hell of a boat. I had a red 24 built in 1987. I used to run the hell out of it through the intercoastal in Boca Raton when it was really snotty. That boat was a little wave crusher.

We're they 6 ft beam? So did sunshine boats build monza? Or something else.

I’m pretty sure they are a 7’ beam. A buddy of mine had one many years ago.

lostchannel 04-23-2021 08:03 PM

Mine if definitely 6 ft beam. Also has pad on keel. Solid fiberglass hull as well. I will post picture after 10 posts. She is waiting for repaint as we speak.

HabanaJoe 04-24-2021 07:32 AM

I'm not sure but never saw a "Monza" with a pad on the bottom, they were old school V-hulls with short narrow strakes, rode very deep in the water

lostchannel 04-24-2021 06:33 PM

Well that's interesting. She has a pad in the keel. There are no markings other that the hin #. When we picked it up it had Cigarette Monza decals but not the Cigarette logo. I assumed it was labeled by previous owner. I know molds hopped around the miami shops back then. Would you know who HNQ hin was?

Not much info there other than company was owned by a George Garcia closed in early 2000.

Do you some pics of the pad on the bottom, so few offshore boats had them in the 80's as I recall?

lostchannel 04-29-2021 05:46 AM

Here are some pictures of the pad. It's hard to find anything about this boat company.

I never saw a Monza like that?

lostchannel 04-29-2021 07:52 AM

How would I find out what sunshine boats built? Would USCG have a mode registered for that hull number?

Hey Lost Channel,

Did you ever find out any more about this boat? I'm looking for something similar myself.

I love the 22 Nitra, but out of my price range. Also, I want to chop it up and turn it into a center console or side console fishing skiff.

I've seen some panga boats that fit the same dimensions, but I wouldn't say I like the look.

Monza 24

No I haven't found out any more. It is a great boat. We use it every weekend. I guess she is a mystery. I was interested in getting pictures of other ones to try and restore it button luck. I did hear that pantera built some boats for them but that to was a dead end.

There are a bunch of different makes and models for the 24x7 boats. But almost no options for 22x6.

lostchannel 08-12-2025 09:41 PM

Ya it's a 24 x7 made by sunshine boats out of miami. Trail is cold

Monza SS 24 08-13-2025 09:24 AM

I have a 1983 Monza and its a 6ft beam with a straight V. Eloy built my boat also.
