A couple of pictures of some Navy SEAL boats ready for shipment. I'm not sure what model they are. If anyone knows, let me know. I have seen a couple of videos on YouTube showing them being air dropped, in use off VA Beach, and coming into Rudee Inlet. I see some Mercury Racing outdrives, but no steps in the hull. The NAVY may be due for an upgraded model. Definitely some nice trucks/trailers. I have seen them on I-64 a few times in traffic.

Yeah I see them myself occasionally. Bad to the Bone.....

I see them around Sarasota occasionally.

I think they are where those 180k Cummins from Innovation go.

These are the RIBS at Mayport NS J-ville, I'll be back there this week as long as my COVID2 shot doesn't knock me in the dirt, which I just got.

The trailers are made by Myco. I have been there a number of times when they are finishing up a building run and the trailers are getting ready for shipment. To say there is some MAJOR engineering going on ie: Weight, structure, etc. is a under statement. And all info is classified.

That DOES happen. Keep in mind that these are working boats and cosmetically they look like crap. Usually gun mounts and other gear have been bolted in that are removed when sold.......You are left with strange metal base plates and holes in very obvious locations.

Even though they are built like brick-****houses, they do try to optimize weight; as they are often loaded onto cargo planes with their trailers. That's why you see the holes in the trailers.

They poke holes in the sides and the boats are generally too heavy and too deep to be good pleasure boats. Getting the drivetrain would be nice though. Tuned up Cummins on 6s.

Very interesting what do they have for power?

As someone who manufacture's stuff for the Navy I can tell you that the paperwork/certs that has to accompany the parts, usually weighs more than the part. When you hear people *****ing and moaning about the winning bid to make a toilet for the government being $70,000, you will understand if you ever get a look at the drawings and specs that have to be met. I know what Myco had to go through to get the Navy Weld Qualifications to build that and the inspection qualifications, it takes about a year just to get approved for a specific type of weld for a specific type of joint.

im pretty sure i came across a few of these hulls for sale awhile back (may have been an auction) . ugly as sin... didnt realize the hardware they were normally equipped with. :whistle:

Decomissioned SEAL Boats
 

Years ago a guy in Deltaville, VA had two or three older generation SEAL go fast boats and trailers. The trailers were in good shape, but the boats were completely stripped. To make things worse. Someone took a forklift and punched holes all down the sides to fully take them out of service.

Saw two of them go out of the Port Everglades inlet last night.

The welding must not have carried down to their civilian trailers....:party-smiley-004:

As a member of NSW, I have seen these in Africa too. There driven by SWCC boat operators. Very heavy and made for higher speeds than a 11meter. Diesel powered with nice drives. Very cool boats and hats off to our SWCC boat operators.
