I have his BBC book and built two 496's following to a T. Full roller, two bolt blocks splayed to four bolt, bore notched, even bore size and ring gaps to what he suggested (which made the machine shop look at me funny). Both motors dyno'd at ~540HP. The best look I got when I asked how long we could keep that motor at 6000rpm... his answer? "Hell idk... three days?" lol!
Dyno time only and put on a shelf. I'd probably sell them for less than what you can buy the parts for today.

I'm also searching for a copy. Have two crusader 454s that I've stripped down and in the process of rebuilding.
I've built a few engines but never been vested in marine applications. Doing the work for my brother who wants to put them in a 10 meter boat.
Any one who wants to sell or lend me a copy for a price let me know. Or any alternative authors maybe something out there for the crusader even?
Appreciate any info.
