one thing that makes a Fountain a Fountain is the left hand controls, now they moved (or give you the option) them to the right? not sure its a smart move, some trade marks should be left alone.
as far as the boat it self, I like it but it seems like they spend too much time trying to make it look like the original Fountains which could be good or bad,
anyways congrats to the owner

I like it, 2700HP in a new 42 foot sport boat in these economic times-badass!!! Also looks like a unique Fountain.

i always though Fountains were a lot like BMW's. Not for everyone and certainly no shortage or haters but one thing you cannot do is deny its abilities. This new 42? I gotta be honest im not a big fan, looks to me like an 80's boat trying to look like something its not, but thats just aesthetics. I do however respect its performance and im sure its built precisely for its target audience (not me lol ). . . . marketing plain and simple
Fountain? Z06 Vette. Half the price, sometimes a little crude, but smokes a lot of Porsches

And thats the issue with the marine industry as a whole, they are afraid to invest into the product and evolve it properly, but when they actually do something, they try so hard to save money that it ends up looking like a bunch of parts from different people put together into one boat.
How sad is that...

Different paint job can drastically change the appearance of any boat. Currently, most sports boats are painted with bold colors, exotic designs that blend hull to deck and anything with bling. This 42 Fountain is pretty much the opposite.
Conservative colors and simple design is very ‘old school’, I think the same boat painted differently could turn a few opinions around. The only thing that will always give it away is the beak and without a beak, it’s not a Fountain. 🙂
Maybe the next one built will get an over the top paint job.
