That’s a government motors company truck, says it on the grill. Lol GMC

My ramp is not steep at all and has huge grooves in it, but I always put it in 4low just to wake up the transfer case if nothing else.

I played around one time and left it in 2wd and set the parking brake. As soon as I released the brake pedal she began to slide in! 4wd every time now.

After watching the video a couple more times you can see that he is backing up way too far and the front wheels are turning back and forth. Looks like he just backed up way too far. If the engine was still running it probably killed it.

It will be on Craigslist shortly, runs great but has electrical issues...................:daz:

Maybe a borrowed truck? It looks just like my truck (but white) and I can't imagine someone that rolls in a 75k+ truck would manage this....... but there is no lowest common denominator for stupid at a boat ramp so who knows!

You can't tell anything by that video. You can't see the ramp or what the driver did. Did they get out of the truck and leave it in reverse? Put in neutral?

It's all just speculation

The wheel chalks seem like a great idea, can never be too careful

Another thing I started doing is chocking the tires with a chocks that are attached to the trailer with a tether. This way, I can just pull forward and the chocks drag up the ramp. Once I get up the ramp and out of the way, I can throw the chocks back in the trailer box.

That's one of the smartest things I've seen on this website.

Thanks! People are always asking about it, or yelling when they see them dragging up the ramp lol. I always tell them that I REFUSE to be one of the ones who ends up on youtube like this ha. I also solo launch/ retrieve a lot and my dog (GSD) waits in the truck until after the boat is launched. I started doing this after watching the video of the RV where the dog bumped it out of park. Obviously pretty far fetched in a truck with a traditional column shifter and foot parking brake, but still. Truck is replaceable, my dog is not.

His glasses say it all lol His reverse lights were on. Came down the ramp, foot on the brake, pressed the ebrake and never put it in park. Just a guess obviously...
