Slippery Ramp Or Not Properly Placed In Park?
 

The owner is blaming a slippery ramp but it doesn't look that steep to me. I say it wasn't put in park. If I did launch on a steep, slippery ramp I'd chock the wheels.

You could tell the way they were backing down the ramp, they were inexperienced. It does look fairly steep though and they backed in too far to begin with. At 9 seconds in his front tires where at the waters edge and they kept going. I've never seen anything like this, but I have seen enough craziness at the ramps.

My boat house is just across the cove from a popular ramp. I've seen this several times. All operator error. Just wait for the EPA clean up fee! :picard1:

If you have a 2wd, and you put it in park you go from 4 locked up wheels to 2, which are the ones on the slippery part.

I always put my truck in 4low, this way all 4 wheels lock when in park. 4low also makes it easier when pulling the boat out, as the boat and trailer are 22,000lbs I also set the parking brake. Another thing I started doing is chocking the tires with a chocks that are attached to the trailer with a tether. This way, I can just pull forward and the chocks drag up the ramp. Once I get up the ramp and out of the way, I can throw the chocks back in the trailer box.

I have always chocked my back tire. Been doing it since I started boating in 1992. I never want to be the one in the video!
