Holy Apache! Overhauled Scalp Hunter Exceeds Expectations
The completely overhauled 41-foot Apache Powerboats V-bottom Scalp Hunter, which made its on-display debut at Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks last week, is arguably the most radical project boat the teams at Maryland Offshore Performance Marine Center and Waves and Wheels have tackled together.

That is Bad A$$,,,, Great job to the teams that did that work. Stunning.
Nice Ford GT also. |
As a show piece that looks killer...
Not my kind of color combo but that's just me. I'm sure the owner loves it and that's all that matters :D  |
Oh sweet! Now I don`t feel so bad about spending a F uck load of money into a mid 80`s boat .:angry-smiley-038:

I was holding the exhaust when it went in up hear at MD Perf, my Tiger is there, Andy sent me a video of it running, it sounds so amazing dry to the tip, switched from carbs to EFI and tuned by Frank Ungarten. once its dialed in it will be a beast... Andy got some really good info on set up from none other than John Pompi on it, being as it went from 3's to 6's.. Lots of knowledgeable people really worked together to make it as nice as it is.

Old school BDS blowers and such? What is for power? Don't get me wrong, it is amazing, I just thought power would be a little different.
|
Not one thing I'd change on that thing! Came out amazing!!

If Todd wanted new modular power he would have done it. Pretty sure he wanted old school to go with the theme. He has a canopied MTI - old Bud Select race boat he had redone with Merc 1200's. He didn't like the old school pushrod blower engine in it so he put in some twin turbo Merc 1100's. He still has the MTI along with Scalp Hunter, nice to have options. :drink:
|
So now blower motors suck? Puhleeze, the perfect power for that boat.
|
How much does it cost? How fast does it go? And how much does it take to fill it up? :)

Yes, and love the colors! |
Lots of imagination and outstanding craftsmanship. The result is over the top. It's an art piece. Reminds me of when I truly admired a Salvador Dali painting the first time.
The owner gotta be applauded for having the bravery to do this with an '80s offshore legend, but I'm still not sure these custom restos are my cup of tea, no matter the amazing quality of materials used or the spectacular colors. Is it sensory overload due to a modern take on a Gatsby-era display of dazzling wonder? This one got me really confused, but one thing is undeniable, it will make an impression on All and it won't be forgotten in time. I guess that's the definition of great art, it affects You. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a3168cd4b3.jpg |
