Clearwater Beach Races This Weekend
 

Hi all, as a newish resident of Clearwater Florida, I was hoping to get some tips for viewing this weekends races from the water. The few questions I have are 1. Is the race course close to pier 60? 2. How early should I get out there so I am not interfering with the race boats/support staff etc? 3. Will the race course be clearly marked and how far should I hold off of the turn buoys/markers? I’ve watched the point pleasant races and ocean city races over the last 30 years from the beach, but I have never seen a race from the water, so I’m a little excited about this opportunity to do so. Any input is greatly appreciated.

1. The race goes about 20' from pier 60, it is the ending of the straight away heading into turn 1.

2. I would say 10am ish but really you never interfere with the boats or races as you have to anchor or raft up on the outside straights. You can not anchor or raft near the shore or the pier.

3. It will be very clearly marked and there will be a *hit load of water patrol assuring you are not in the course.
