new for the FX line is the Yamaha Recdeck platform that can take a multitude of add-ons, like the loungeseat (Recdeck platform can be retrofitted back to 2019 FX models) https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5c7d54f195.png https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d8fd8f1389.png |

As only the Japanese can do it. Amazing, indeed.

The sea doo skis have had the ability to attach coolers, fuel tanks, tool kits etc for a few years now with their Linq system. Makes for a nice seating area as well if nothing is attached, or you can pull the 2nd/3rd seat off to make a longe area. The Yamahas have nothing new there. Do the yamahas have speakers in their skis yet?

Yamaha may be at the front of new technology, but technology isn’t everything. From their website in Thailand, you can still buy a 2 stroke outboard, but you can’t get EFI or oil injection. A trusty old carbie motor than runs on premix fuel. They’re still very popular over here because they just keep going.
E.G. 200HP of old school simplicity for 399,000 Thai baht. (About 13k USD) https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...05123d6ae.jpeg RR (Behind the times 🙂) |

Rather than run it with some worn out 30 year old engine, or power up and try to make it run with new boats, I’m thinking make it period correct and perfect. I can even put on a brand new from the factory 1988 model engine!!! RR |
A recent thread on THT discusses Yamaha's use of Ford Motor Co. connecting rods on some outboard engines. The two companies partnered on some technology occasionally.

So many companies do this type of thing, Toyota/GM; Suzuki/GM; Mazda/Ford, Toyota/ Subaru; etc. |
