It'll be an interesting year. Miami Beach isn't the same as it was 6 years ago. I hope for the best but I hope there is a HUGE police presence in South Beach and around the convention center.

Police on the streets. Lots of opportunists there now that didn’t used to be there. Stimulus money and rent forgiveness and child credit checks flooded South Beach with folks that didn’t used to be there. Starting fights in restaurants so the restaurant clears out and they don’t have to pay. Ordering seafood towers to take selfies and then saying they don’t want them so they don’t have to pay. Even Loews and Fountain Bleau are full of them too. We had to sneak in the side door of Loews a couple of months ago because of a brawl out front.

Agree with this . Was there for a couple nights last year after the poker run in February. It was insane . There was a car chase and shoot out right in front of our hotel ir was like a movie scene. Mimi was always nuts but it's a whole different level now. Wasn't as fun as it used to be in my opinion. Heard restaurants are asking for deposits for reservations now.

This is a smart move for the show participants and attendees. Monday is/was ALWAYS a 'blah' day at the show. Folks that were selling items you can carry out with you were always trying to blow out the last of their inventory on the day with the fewest people. Almost all booths/displays are being broken down by noon on Monday anyhow. I assume the show organizers will have a mandate that you can't start breaking down and/or vacate before X hour on Sunday; which is common. If you are serious about buying/ordering a boat or other large purchase, anyone can stick around on Monday after the hustle and bustle of the show to finish a deal. Folks with factories/companies/business to run, can get back to work by Monday or Tuesday so they don't have another full week impacted by the show. And it will make hotel stays/expenses a little cheaper for those spending money to partake in the show as well.
