Riddle me this..........

Howdy All.......been awhile........sorry to hear about DanL......that truely is awful what happened.......

Anyways......Ole' Shore finally got rid of the Mustang......yup goodbye gone........I picked up a 98 LS1 Formula M6.....Black of course........the entire car is stock........except for a K&N and airbox mod.......Well we dedide to throw her on the dyno to see what we got to work with........and to our surprise......323 RWHP @ 5200.......and 351 LB/FT @4100.......WTF!!!!!.......GM rates these cars at 305 BHP from the factory.......what gives.....and to boot a friend of mine ran his 2002 WS-6 and it put 321RWHP and 350LBFT.......but his was an A4.......he was pissed.....Haaaa.....:p

Last car to run was a 2000 C5 M6......Now these little F#$%ers are rated at 345 BHP......this poor bastard put down 320RWHP.....don't remember the Torque I was laughing to hard......Sorry Bill.....anyways.....anybody else have oneof these friggin things and do you have any dyno results?????????......I haven't begun to tinker with it yet.......Time to raid the SLP catalog...:D

32fever 11-21-2002 01:21 PM

Good to see you finally got a decent car. :D

JUSTONCE 11-21-2002 01:22 PM

they arent rated at the wheels either.? I think sometimes you just get a good one the specs on ballance and tollerance are so wide that some are noticably better than others. I had a stock z28, It beat the crap out of every other stock one of the same year and some with mild mods.BTW those t.a.'s respond very well to the K&N boxes.

Smitty 11-21-2002 01:23 PM

Hey buddy glad to see your still alive!!!:D

Don't wait so long til your next visit!!

CigDaze 11-21-2002 01:28 PM

I don't remember what it is exactly, but the motor has to be within +/- 15% (or something close to that). You'd be surprised how much variation there is from one unit to the next.

You got a good one!

Welcom Back, Shor. Definately long time no hear. What else is new?

Shorgasm 11-21-2002 01:49 PM

Wassup boys........Been real fun here for me lately......things are calming down now..........I'm sure you all remember the EX......well she really F-ed me good......well she tried her best but it didn't work......I hope I never see her again......really screwed me up that someone had it in them to do this to another person......I would go into details of this story but it's really nobodies business.....:rolleyes:You'd be amazed at the length women will go to cover there ass.....I have never in my life met a bigger liar......and I am ashamed to have known her....

The boat is temporarily sitting till it gets a new Gimbal bearing.........I have bigger fish to fry right now.....;)

Not to mention this little 22 year old project I am working on now....:D

Shorgasm 11-21-2002 01:52 PM

Oh and for the car stuff.........BHP= Flywheel.......RWHP is well just that.....these frigging things are just waaaaaaay underrated......;) and the C5's lose more HP through the IRS than the solid axle.....hahahah.....although I don't wanna race one just yet....;)

CigDaze 11-21-2002 01:56 PM

In any event, let bygones be bygones. Glad to hear you're past it. I'm sure it's a good feeling to be up and running at 100%. :D:D:D

Jayl13 11-21-2002 03:09 PM

I just traded in my WS6 (1998) 2 days ago
I did the GM hot cam, Mine was an A4 so I had a Yank 3700 stall converter, Mac headers, borla with removeable cats, MTI air lid K&N filter, ported and polished MAF, TB bypass, cut under the air box for the free air mod, stock 2.73's, nitto drag radials, BMR suspension and DS loop, Hypertech computer reprogrammer, She ran 11.92 on her best day at the track and dyno'ed in at 404 RWHP NO NITROUS EVER!
All NA
no blower, no nos nothing
I did what the LS1 community said could not be done, hit 11';s in a LS1 with no nitrous on 2.73's
As a side note, I cried like a little girl when I traded her in
I will be selling alot of parts I took off of it if your interested.
Real cheap
Let me know if you want them or some of them.
That car ROCKS and will never be beat by any stang, even super charged you will kick their ass
Took vipers off the line, M3's, all ricers, Supra turbos, 911's turbo and non (off the line got the 911 then he blew by me like I was standing still at about 1/8 mile) NSX's were breakfast and 33zx turbo's were lunch
Other LS1's were no problem unless they had more mods than me then beating them was tough. You get some head work and the aftermarket intake, (LS6 or other) and your really going to fly

Have fun with it but if yours is a stick, be careful of clutch problems, that hydraulic stuff sucks, boil that fluid and get air in there and your done,
Jason

Shorgasm 11-21-2002 03:22 PM

Yup......she's got a new clutch and the master clynider upgrade.....whole new part.......this thing is ridiculous....2nd to 3rd will get ya about 6 foot of rubber.......at friggin 85 mph......Holy Chit....404RWHP is strong........especially for no H/C work....

I need to do the exhaust SOON....this thing is whisper quiet.....and the funny thing is the ctas kinda stink after it gets hot.....so there is more there for sure.....tell me what parts you got and be nice to my wallet.....:D I just went yesterday and put the insurance on it.....

I believe this to be the truest and most reserved comment I have ever made......;)

Allan4 11-21-2002 10:39 PM

Well shiiiiiahhhtttt. Look who showed up. Ole' sugar tits shoregasm.......Whats up Bro!!! HAHAHAHAAA

Where the hell have you been man, poor J-L has been getting sadamized by his engine builder, I have decided that 75.7gps is not fast enough for my 24 Outlaw, so I bought a blower and well......the sun still rises in the east. So you have gone to the good side, GM that is. I have a 91 Z28 all stock besides K&N that may need a little wrenching some day. Only 55K miles, I bought it new. Get that GM running strong, J-L is the man to ask, from what he has said, his was a bad *****. Keep in touch humpo.... :D :D

Wally 11-22-2002 09:45 AM

all i can add is ........Vortec Supercharger!!! A buddy of mine has a 99 WS6 A4 convertable.....he got one of the first 10 Vortec kits made......took him 3 weekends of of working on Saturday nights for 1-2 hours to install it. If it was me i would have pulled an all nighter to get that puppy on! :D Anyway..with a borla exhaust and headers and nothing else done to the car he had it dynoed for the first time since he got it on about 3 months ago......435hp at the rear wheels!!!!! The thing is still on stock tires and rims and lights em up in 3rd gear if he hammers it!!! I gave him my hand held Garmin to see how fast he could get it once............................he came back to my house a few days later with a reading of 172mph!!!! and he said he ran out of road with it still climbing!! Next to an exotic car these TA's are the best looking cars out there right now IMHO. :D

Allan4 11-22-2002 09:01 PM

172mph!!!!!!! On the street!!!!!! Holy smokes, that is rippin' baby. May have to get me one of them there 'chargers....:D :D

Shorgasm 11-25-2002 10:09 AM

We got a couple guys on one of our other LS1 boards that are tryin to hit 200MPH with an "LS1".....N/A.too.......just intake and gearing work.......it's good for about 185 MPH now......i mean Holy Chit.......there working on keeping the thing on the ground now.... should be just under 500HP that gives up the magic number.....I have run her up to about 148 and just got into 5th......ran outta of availible road......friggin 95 North traffic.....Brakes are so good at 150........

satisfaction69 11-25-2002 12:12 PM

Not to sound stupid but what is the M6 and A4 lingo? Is that 6-speed man ans 4 speed auto? Just curious Ihave a 99' WS6 ramair 4-speed auto and Traction control, and a 99' 30th anniv. Ws6 Ramair with the 6-speed man. 99' is a special year they only made approx. 7800. I have #'s 1779 black Auto and the 30th anniv. is # 291

the RWHP on the Black Auto is 328hp and torque is 349 and the 30th is 336hp and 362torque. completly untouched "literally) they both have less than 3600 miles in the 3 years that I've had them.
Good luck to ya keep us posted on your progress.

Later Sat69:D

BAJA WILL 11-25-2002 01:02 PM

172 mph, That is haulin azz. The fastest I have been was 150 on my ZX-6E bike. In a car I hit about 145mph in my Iroc Z, all back when I was in High School (less than 10 years ago). Your buddy is a freak, I don't think they designed the car to go that fast much less the road:D :D

Will

Wally 11-25-2002 03:30 PM

Keep it on the groud is a good description!!! He said when he passed a semi during the run the wind off the truck made the car"wiggle" on the road...he said the car was basicly floating from 150+........I've personnaly driven a 99 WS6 M6 to 150mph on the way back from FL to IL.....shifting from 5th tp 6th at 147............6th gear is a joke! the car falles flat on its face unless you have the RPM's way up there to take advantage of it! :D

HyperBaja 11-25-2002 03:41 PM

Oh yeah, my moms got you all beat, 2000 firebird Auto 4 speed 200hp V6. Yeah. We went to 120 in it....

That was the first car I drove after getting my permit :)
Can run through a tank of gas at those high rpm pretty quickly!!
