We're trying to keep this idea alive. I'm monitoring the weather in Jax everyday and we will be going there this winter or spring and talk to some realtors and check the area out.

You have identified MANY excellent locations...we also like Savannah, St. Simons/Jekyll Island, Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach and St. Augustine. Frankly, we were glad that (due to our past) we had a footprint that made our decision at this point in our lives a lot easier...although Hurricane Sally reminded us that there is no easy choice.

The mosquitos are a big nuisance in Belize but usually was just right before sunset it seemed. We were there several years ago for a week. Very laid-back atmosphere.
When we got back i went to give blood and was informed it has malaria there and they wouldn't take my blood for 6 mo or something. I had no idea. Lots of expats there for sure. |

"What’s not to like about this?" Uh, the snow? |
