i killed the buyer beware thread

don't jump on OSO for this one. I killed the buyer beware thread.

I had no intentions of having it degrade to any kind of mudslinging (from either side). I also have no plans on trying resolving the issue. I'm just going to drop it. Its over a few bucks that really doesn't matter.

packinair 11-22-2002 02:02 PM

DAMN IT!!!! I WAS JUST GOING TO READ THAT TO

DoTheMath 11-22-2002 02:10 PM

Puder~

Good for you for offering the "olive branch" and being the bigger person here... At this point, everyone that followed this needs all they need to...

seanclong 11-22-2002 02:11 PM

So who's going to credit me for my lost posts???? :D :p

Fast Shafts 11-22-2002 02:16 PM

Puder,
You certainly got everyones attention. I think there were 78+ posts on this thread in a short period of time. People who spend large amounts of money on their engines and drives are thankful for posts like yours!
It would be great to see more threads on shops that are "recommended", however, there are more people on this site who are "unsatisfied" with thier shop/engine builder.
I was not surprised when the post was deleted.

ChrisK 11-22-2002 02:19 PM

You might have killed it.... but we know what it was about so the point is made.

puder 11-22-2002 02:22 PM

i will actually ad this in. My reasoning for picking it up in person was becasue i wanted to check out there setup. I've heard many things about this engine biulder (positive) and seen thier ads many times. I figured while i was in flroida i should check out thier setup and facilities. My intentions were along the lines of maybe i might use them for engine work if everything works out with my move to florida.

Cord 11-22-2002 02:45 PM

Don't you already have an engine?

ursus 11-22-2002 02:48 PM

"Don't you already have an engine"

A true performance boater is always thinking about their next engine :D

puder 11-22-2002 02:48 PM

yep but i have my eye on a cat with a pair of 1000s :D

cigarette1 11-22-2002 02:54 PM

Puder, you did the right thing

puder 11-22-2002 02:55 PM

thanks. More importantly,

what is the deal with that starfish???

cigarette1 11-22-2002 02:56 PM

Pucker Up Baby :D

puder 11-22-2002 02:58 PM

DEVIL MAN 11-22-2002 03:58 PM

Puder...I am not sure???? You exposed someone for who they were....that really intrigued the board members. Curious minds want to know these things.

DMan

Ps....When it comes to marine engines, mild or hot....I have only one word for the curuous!!!!! PFAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

timucin 11-22-2002 04:08 PM

my idea: they gave a nice deal on 1000's. thats why he doesnt want to talk about it anymore
;)

blue thunder 11-22-2002 04:09 PM

Puder... you immature *****. All I want to know is if the person in question is a man or woman?? :D :D :D :D :D :D

Man I'm glad I come home for lunch. I wouldn't have missed that thread for anything!!

You did good puder.

BT

Sean 11-22-2002 04:09 PM

that's okay b, i think you did the right thing by taking it down...enough people saw enough to draw their own conclusions... no cobra power for me.

blue thunder 11-22-2002 04:14 PM

Or was it inexperienced power boater??? Something like that. Oh well... fun as hell anyway. :D I am not sure if all was justified either way, but I am sure of the fact that the little guy now (due to internet) has a voice and could cause serious business consequences for poor customer service. That makes me happy. Businesses need to pay heed.

BT

birdog 11-22-2002 04:15 PM

I don't know,dude......

Might be nice to know what kind of people they are
before you lay down 20-30 k.......

Who did you help by deleting the thread ?...Just them

puder 11-22-2002 04:26 PM

sean it hink i will be using local shos from now on.

Did you get the e--mail i sent you about the boats at falcon? any news on the snake? I hear its sitting back at falcon again....

Frequency 11-22-2002 04:38 PM

Formal Response from Cobra Owner?

I was following the thread, but missed the last half hour of it's life. Was Angel's identity verified?

Did the owner of Cobra Power (Randy) post on the thread? If so, what was his response? If not, I'd like to know how he handles the situation.

Not that this forum is ever used for unscrupulous reasons. :D

I'd like to hear from Cobra's OWNER before I decide NEVER to do business with them.

WesSmith 11-22-2002 04:44 PM

Puder,

The Snake was purchased last year and is now having a slick paint job completed as we speak.
Last I heard it was not on the market.

Wes

Sean 11-22-2002 05:10 PM

B,

I never got an email from you...i would have responded...and yes, wes is correct...I'm gonna try and get some pics this weekend to share...jake is lookin sharp.

I think you should use someone local anyway...despite the problems I've had with my 540's, I would highly recommend the folks at Falcon. Joe built a set of monster 632s natural...and they easily push his 40' battle wagon to 80 mph... There is ONE well know local guy you should beware of...PM me and I will tell you who it is...

Sean

Ron P 11-22-2002 05:16 PM

Damn I must have missed the end when it got good. Busy day here.

Turbojack 11-22-2002 05:35 PM

That thread brought up a topic for another thread. When do you become experienced power boater?

puder 11-22-2002 05:39 PM

i heard jake was purchased but back for sale at falcon again. Is it the diner guy who still ownes it? got any pics of the paint job? Honeslty i didnt; even really mind the snakes itwasthe name i hated. I woudl have painted ove rthe sides in silver and left the deck as is. Too bad i really liked the setup on taht boat stripped own performance. The only thing i would have wanted was a head for emergencies.

ShipWrecked 11-22-2002 05:51 PM

Are You?

QUOTE: Puder,

We all want to know the in's and out's, but what was their response? If we didn't get to see the final posts, we do not know what Cobra had to say. Maybe this post was deleted because they had valid reasons for what happened? But, then again...

blue thunder 11-22-2002 06:18 PM

shipwrecked... I read the reply. What seller (cobrapower) did was fire back at their customer (brandon p. puderbach III) in a very unprofessional manner, including name calling (puder got called a ***** :D ) and then procede to basically deny all responsibility. I've seen customers tear up a business on this site before, and the business owners come back and make the complainer look like an ass. This was not the case here. It was an all out name callin from seller to buyer. Incredible indeed. Someone needs to be fired on the sellers end for that.

Just my observations so don't kill thy messenger!!

BT

dean campbell 11-22-2002 06:31 PM

i thought it was a joke at first...but then cobra followed up with even more, WOW.

i kind'a wish someone had've saved cobra's response, man that was classic. i doubt we'll see a nother post quite like that from an oso sponsor any time soon.

KAAMA 11-22-2002 06:52 PM

Cobra

Oh well, why do our opinions matter anyway? with the over 7000 members on this forum we are probably just another bunch of "immature inexperienced boaters", therfore we don't rate----and I guess our opinions don't count. Perhaps we should call this the IMMATURE INEXPERIENCED BOATERS CLUB

blue thunder 11-22-2002 07:30 PM

Yeah Kaama it seems true. In the eyes of angel (boy or girl?) we are all cheap assed boobs who don't deserve our money back when they give us the wrong part. Very bad indeed.

BT

Ron P 11-22-2002 07:48 PM

"immature inexperienced boaters", therfore we don't rate
In the eyes of angel (boy or girl?) we are all cheap assed boobs who don't deserve our money back.

Did they really say that to us? Holy sh!T! Didn't they offer to make it right?

Geez, Something like:
Dear Puder,

It has come to our attention that the part you that we sold you was incorrect for your application. As long as it was unused you can either have your money back or we will replace it with the correct part.

Angel,

PS use spell check next time so you get the right part the first time. *****.

blue thunder 11-22-2002 08:46 PM

I made up the boob part, but the context was that a $200 purchase was insignificant to them and did not warrant being nice to the customer. Boy or girl? is my question because I cannot envision a girl with that kind of public foul mouth. I remember a guy by the name of "Angel" from the Rockford Files. :D

BT

Allan4 11-22-2002 09:18 PM

Ron P, :D :D :D I like that last line.......HAHAHA

Dag gammit, I missed the entire thread. Sounds like a scrap. Sometimes best to cut loose Puder, sounds like you did thie right thing. Later.

KAAMA 11-22-2002 11:20 PM

Just click on the Link for Cobra engines here within OSO and it will show you the Cobra crew and you will find out who Angel is.

merlin540 11-22-2002 11:33 PM

i think we all know why cobra power is having a fire sale for all the parts from there old junk yard dogs. raced a lot of there power in poker runs and they didnt fair very well AKA DEATH SMOKE enough said:p

Puder,
I give you huge credit for stepping up to the plate and proving that powerboaters are not immature and inexperienced. I am, however, still in awe of the actions of Cobra (Angel). Obviously there is a reason they are trying desperately to sell off their inventory.

KAAMA 11-23-2002 09:03 AM

Well said Too Old!

Include in the note a couple of smilie faces with a reminder that 7000 hi-performance boaters saw them act like schmucks!
