Not saying you and your wife don't work hard and deserve every dime you make, but you can easily afford it. It really depends on if you want to afford it. Realize that insurance will cost at least $1000/month as well and you will probably need the Tres Martin performance boat courses to get cat insurance. When I bought my current boat, it cost more than a 1/2 year salary for me. It was worth it to me. |
I’m sorry but I was pretty turned off by the thread but I’m just a poor dirt farmer. Dirt I can at least make sense with. 😂

Good responses, thanks.
We already have the truck covered (2020 GM HD) Have factored in ‘other’ costs. Don’t want a supercar, we rented a Huracan last week in Florida, was cool, but not something I want to own. Hard not to come off as haughty, but I figured in this group many people have way more than average. Kids are kids, they hate when I start up my R1 now…too loud! WTH? |

There's a little gem of a boaters group on Facebook, look up Passion for Powerboats. I'm sure people will chime in with sound advice.

Me neither until I listed the equipment I wanted to sell from the gc I sold recently. |
Twodocs you have an R1 your kids hate, sorry. You have a tri toon, you rent fun cars. Sounds like you have enough money to buy the boat you want and if you don't like it sell it. I doubt that once the wind is flowing and the kids are gone that you will be upset. You only live once and can't take it with you. May as well have fun with all the work you put into your career.

So, 500K is half a years salary? You make a million bucks a year? Buy the damn boat you want.
