Do they all have that radar rack thing?

Nope not all. They were always a silly looking boat.

Here's our 1966 IMP, 18 foot, 160 hp. inline 6cyl.

IMP and Imperial are not the same but may be somehow related somewhere in the business papers. They both produced lower cost boats and don't hold value very well. IMP did make some performance boats in the 80's when everyone had to make performance boats(can you say Miami Vice). I have never seen one come apart but they are closer to a Bayliner than a Scarab.

I've seen some IMP's running around here, but I don't specifically remember much about the boats.
I used to get mailings from Raymonds Boat Sales on a regular basis. I think they are in the LOTO area?? I seem to remember that they were a IMP dealer. I might be wrong, but it may be worth a call to see what they can tell you. Here's a link to their site. http://www.raymondsboats.com/ |
Insptech summed it up very well I think. Not bad boats, but far from top of the line.

Here's their website: http://www.impboat.com/
IMP (Iola Molded Plastics) email: [email protected] They say they've been revamping their product line since 2000. http://www.impboat.com/img11.jpg |
Thanks everyone for the info. It was very helpful!!!!!
