jonnys boat is bigger than yours, and it ran so good they beat the bad guys too... yours cant do that, it has a problem with steering

I normally don't participate in negative input, but in this case I am willing to make an exception.
At the beginning I genuinely believed the OP was looking for help with his poorly designed and set up boat. I was incorrect with that assumption, he just wanted validation with his preexisting plan to install an oversized cavitation plate (not a Hydrofoil, as indicated by the title). Thank you SB for the example of a hydrofoil!
I say go cat go! Install the Doel-fin or whatever brand you have already purchased, and when it creates so much stern lift, you spin out, and from the extra load on the cav plate it breaks the mounting points clean from the drive.
Please don't have anyone else with you at the time of your test run.
