Plugging flush mount cleat drain hole

Any reason I can’t just plug this drain hole up? I have two small cleats that I’d prefer to just plug. I assume the water would just puddle and then evaporate? If so anyone know what fitting it is? Doesn’t appear to be 1/8 NPT it’s very coarse thread…..

Just realized it was an Accon Marine product. I’ll call them tomorrow…..

Winter/freezing would be the only consideration, in my opinion. Why not just run drain hoses?

No reason that you can't, just make sure you rinse it out with fresh water.

Most of my pop up cleats have the drain tube plugged

Come to find out they have been draining directly on the foam behind my upholstery. there is a wood/fiberglass mount directly under it so running a drain tube would be hard - probably not enough clearance.

I’ll just plug
